Exposure - EP

"Exposure" is the exhilarating new release from the upcoming piano rock group Don't Fear The Sun. Based out of Dayton, Ohio, DFTS is taking the regional music scene by storm. Energized by powerful bass leads and elegant piano hooks, the guitar-less trio has developed a unique sound that will keep toes tapping. From the heart stopping captivating hooks of "Here Before," to the dissonant and trepidatious tones of "Holding On To This Could Keep Me Alive," Don't Fear the Sun depicts an animated coloring of living in today's society.

Don't Fear the Sun's orchestrations are driven by the bright elegance of Timothy Moon's piano playing, whose voice also vividly portrays each melody with compassion and sincerity. The band's driving rhythm derives from the intricate percussive styling of Evan Iles. Add in the dance inspired bass grooves of Nelson Wheatley, and the result is
one of the most unique sounds to hit the music scene in years. Nelson and Timothy met at The University of Findlay. The two started collaborating on a vision of a band with a unique piano rock sound. Shortly after a few compositions were finished, Timothy and Nelson decided to find a third member for the group. After looking into many different drummers they decided to meet up with one of Nelson's friends, Evan. The trio shares a passion for captivating an audience through music, and trying to find new twistson old sounds.

"Someone once told me, if you aren't doing what you love, you are wasting your time. We want to connect to people, and we feel that our passion for music is the best way to do it," says Timothy. Chemistry resonates through every note this trio plays. "Our greatest desire, is to connect to people," Nelson adds. "We're not a band who is out to make money and party all the time. To put it simply: We love music and we love people, and that is what this is about to us."
