Blinded by unresolved anger
and ann unforgiving heart,
I walk these streets to nowhere.

Mommy was a fallen soul,
Pa, not far behind.
Never learned to love or cry.
these impersonators were
so unkind.

With memories cloaked in
a veiled smile.
The ogre on my back becomes
heavier all the while.
I leave the room to yield,
shed the echoes
and surrender.
When he flexes his will,
this childhood offender.

The passing years lend no remorse.
Frustration still remains a driving force.
I search for forgiveness or forgetfulness to live a
natural life.
One without memories of Mommy, Pa, heartache and strife.

I still walk these streets to nowhere.
