Bio
n 2002, after years of touring and recording with Bayside, Mike Kozak left the band to start a project with long time friend and drummer Chris Macholz. Writing and recording their first EP, they quickly settled on a full lineup and the name Don’t Run. After several East Coast tours, and sensing stagnation in the project, Mike (and Chris soon after) left to join Long Island band Sarcasm. 3 years and over 300 shows later, Chris and Mike left to spend time at home and pursue interests outside of music.
Despite picking up a new member (Kyle Cadolino of Long Island band Bela Kiss) writing a slew of new songs and recording a new EP, health problems, jobs and other obligations impeded efforts to gain momentum. Another year would pass before new material was brought to the table and members decided to refocus their efforts.
In the winter of 2010, Don’t Run was reformed with a renewed sense of direction and their strongest lineup to date. Bringing in former Bayside bandmate Chris Jackson, on bass, Don’t Run began work on their newest recording and booking shows in the Northeast region.
