Bio

Doomsday Machine was started in 2011 by Michael Gibilisco, Jimmy Cohaguila, and Paul Spak. The goal was to have a unique mix of Brutal, Blackend, and Melodic Death Metal with crushing breakdowns along with powerful lyrics and vocal structures. Each member was carefully picked for what took years of looking and trying out people to put together. Jimmy Cohaguila, born in Peru, moved to East Haven, CT in his early twenties and began looking for musicians to put together a serious death/black metal group. After finding and jamming with a few musicians that never amounted to what he was looking for he soon met up with Michael Gibilisco & Paul Spak and immediately they clicked. Michael Gibilisco has been playing in local and signed acts since the age of 14 for many types of extreme metal generes. Paul Spak, a 10+ year experienced, left handed bassist, has been playing in his father's bands since he was young in progressive/classic rock acts. It wasn't until 2008 that Paul began seeking musicians his own age to start a modern extreme metal band. Alex Pinero comes in 7 months into the career of Doomsday Machine after looking and going through numerous vocalists. Alex, also playing 2nd guitar for the band with 13+ years experience with 4 years of classical guitar training, was born is Los Angelas, CA and moved to Connecticut at the age of 4. Jimmy had played with Alex in two different bands when he came to CT and they played well together so it wasn't long before his name came up and he was down playing with DM when a vocalist spot opened up.
