Bio

Nicole grew up in a Christian home in Iowa and from an early age loved music. Her parents, being new Christians, were always bringing home music from various Christian artists. She felt a strong pull towards being like the artists she listened to as a child and soon developed her talent as a singer. She began singing in her church on the worship team, as well as with the youth band. Ministry became the forefront of her mind as she began to grow closer to God and allow Him to heal hurts from her past. She has a heart for those who are broken and whose fathers did not fulfill their role, as this is part of her story. God has shown her favor by blessing her with someone to adopt her and be the dad that her biological father never was. She realizes this is what God wants for every single person, to be the Father to the fatherless. She hopes to be used by God to bring others into His presence and to show them there is freedom from the past in God's mercy and love.

Alisha grew up in a family that had been singing gospel music in Middle Tennessee churches even before she was born. Having a family with such a strong faith in God and such an interest in music, it is no surprise that Alisha accepted Christ at an early age and eventually chose to pursue music herself. Surprisingly though, her interest in music did not begin until her teenage years, after the passing of her grandfather, who was the head of the music group. She never sang with the family, but at 15 she began writing lyrics and soon discovered the talent that God had given her and would later call her to use for His glory. Upon surrendering to that calling and drawing closer to God, it seemed that a lot of Alisha's life, as she had known it, began to fall apart, but through it all, God was there drawing her to Himself. Through this pain, God enabled her to write heartfelt songs that she hopes will touch many others whom have faced similar situations. It is her prayer that from her pain, others will be drawn closer to God and know His loving embrace during trying times.

In April 2006, God called Nicole to proceed with moving to Nashville, TN, and on her first Sunday at Grace Church, she met Alisha. The meeting was definitely ordained by God, and as their friendship grew, they began writing together. Soon God placed it on their hearts to record a demo and that demo turned into the full length CD, Supplication for Emancipation. Though they knew that God had called them to this, the process was far from an easy one. After struggling to find the right producer and then to find the musicians needed to record, other obstacles arose from issues with the recording equipment, to problems with the artwork, to even an issue with the equipment at the manufacturing plant, but through it all, God saw them through the frustrations and the disappointments. The result is a sincere CD with the musicians, producer, and arrangements that God obviously had in mind for their debut independent release, and they both feel incredibly honored to have been a part of such an amazing process. It is their desire that God receive all the glory for this project, because there is not a doubt in either one of their minds that, on their own, they would have never been able to write, sing, and record the great songs with which He has blessed them. They pray that God will touch you with the songs He has given them and that He will bless your life in every possible way!
