Ways of the World

Written By: Doris Bazzini Crothers

Ways of the World (D. Bazzini Crothers 2012)

There once was a girl, who followed a rainbow
There once was a boy who followed a girl
They chased after dreams and ran with the wind
But no one could tell them about the ways of the world

The boy heard the drums that take men away
To war, for the causes that no one can say
He swore he’d return, she pleaded him stay
He said he’d be gone a short while
To wait if she may

Refrain:
Where has my love gone to now?
How is it that we’re apart?
Can it really be that you’ve broken my heart?
Do you remember the girl/boy
You swore you’d love til time’s bitter end?
Sad that my love has been truly forgotten

The years passed so slowly, the letters returned
She longed for his love
For his arms she did yearn
Each night she would pray that to him she would wake
But wars do not care for the wishes that lovers will make
Refrain…………………

As he once had promised, the boy did return
His body’d been broken
But his love still did burn
But young hearts are not meant to stay long alone
She found in the arms of another the love he’d once shown
Refrain…………………………..

Peace Be With You

Written By: Doris Bazzini Crothers

On the evening of that first day
with the doors locked, He came in
As He stood there and He saw me
Light and kindness poured through Him

And He reached out to me
And He whispered my name
And He said, “Peace be with you,” again, and again
And he showed me His hands,
And He showed me His side,
And I cried, I cried On last time add --------- No more

With compassion, in His wisdom,
He said, “My Father sent me to you.”
Now I send you, with my spirit
To teach forgiveness to others too.

I Will Walk in the Land of the Living (Psalm 114)

Written By: Arranged by Doris Bazzini; Adapted from Psalm 114

I will walk before the Lord, in the land of the living.

I love the LORD because he heard my voice in plea

His ear to me, the day I called, I called to Him.

I will walk before the Lord, in the land of the living.

The cords of death, they have ensnared and seized upon me

I fell into distress and sorrow, and I called upon the Lord

"O LORD, save me, save my life!" "O LORD, save me, save my life!"

R. I will walk before the Lord, in the land of the living.

Gracious is the LORD; Our God is just and merciful;

The LORD keeps the little ones; I was brought low, and he saved me.

I shall walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

I will walk before the Lord, in the land of the living.
