Dos Bastardos

DOS BASTARDOS was founded in 1994 as a duo by Gery Klein (acoustic guit.) and Ali Hilzensauer (six string bass). Gery, who hails from modern Jazz, loves the immediacy of rock, while Ali, who`s roots are in Heavy Metal, loves the improvisational freedom of Jazz. This symbiosis led to exceptional compositions, with which they established themselves locally and internationally as support for John Mc Laughlin, Mike Stern, Simon Phillips Band, Birelly Lagrene, Andy Summers, Trilok Gurtu, Bela Fleck...The first live recording 1995 resulted from a cooperation with Colin Hodgkinson and Frank Dietz: A thunderstorm for two guitars and two basses.1996 Hannes Schalle produced their maxi CD " Please play loud". From 1998 on their music took a new direction; with peter Bachmayer on drums and the vocalist Lem Enzinger (ex U8/ Schubert) a funky hard pop band was formed, which has fascinated audiences ever since. 2001 their CD "Gimme Five" appeared. Meanwhile the desire for the Duo reawoke, for the initial BASTARD-SOUND.
