Bio

Doug Braxton began his musical journey, like most, singing at his local church. Unlike others, Braxton’s infectiously massive vocals carried through Stone Mountain, Georgia. It was there Doug honed his musical skills by directing his fellow youth choir, participated in drama and music, where he became a fine arts leader and a much sought after vocalist.

After singing background vocals for Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Blair, and Byron Cage (appearing on his Stellar nominated album), Doug toured all over Europe, and performed at Carnegie Hall with Ray Hays and Destined. Doug finished at Claflin University, receiving a degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education, merging knowledge with his talent. Doug is influenced by the music of artists such as Donny Hathaway, John Legend, the Clark sisters, Sam Cooke, and Boyz II Men.

Recently off tour with electric violinist Caitlin Moe and performing at the Orange Bowl in Florida, Braxton has delved into his past experiences to move forward in his music. He is currently writing and recording for his debut album which is expected to be released in late 2010. Through emotional performances and a soulful, touching voice, Doug has both the skills and the demeanor to become the next great American Crooner.
