Bio

Engineer/producer Doug Diamond has been writing, recording, producing, mixing and mastering music for most of his life. He has over 20 years of experience in practically every type of music there is. A former staff engineer at world-famous Ocean Way Recording in Los Angeles, he graduated with honors from the recording program at The Grove School of Music (1990). Currently, he is finishing his Music Business Master Certification and his Music Supervision Professional Certification from the renown Berklee College of Music where he has the opportunity to learn directly from some of the best teachers in the music business.

In his Ocean Way days, Doug worked with many top recording artists such as Natalie Cole, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, The B-52’s, Meatloaf, Michael Bolton, Mick Fleetwood, Michael Jackson and many others, as well as with some of the top record producers in the world such as Grammy winner T-Bone Burnett, Don Was and film composer Hans Zimmer. Doug was also involved in a number of Hollywood films such as “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle,” “The Power Of One,” several Disney films, and Levi’s Jeans TV commercials.

Since then, he has had the opportunity to work on thousands of independent artist’s projects from all walks of life, from all over the world, and in every possible music genre (and then some!) as well as projects for major labels, major publishing companies, indie music companies, TV production companies and many others. Follow Diamondisc Audio on Twitter (@diamondisc) for updates on what projects are going on at the moment.

As a composer, Doug has provided all of the music for the PBS show HANDS ON - CRAFTS FOR KIDS airing on hundreds of PBS stations nationwide. His work includes both the main theme and background music. He and his co-writer Tommy Fields are also providing music to ESPN for MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL and other television programs.

He also plays drums with his 1980's cover band "Class Action," a local/regional favorite in northeastern Indiana (where he grew up).

Doug has a love of music and audio that has taken him literally around the globe – from Los Angeles and Nashville to Thailand, Hong Kong and South Africa.

He is also a member of The Recording Academy (home to The GRAMMYs) as well as the Association of Independent Music Publishers and BMI.
