Bio

Doug Irving: Singer/Songwriter......trained in voice in the State University of New York system he has played both guitar and keyboards for decades began writing in 1972 numerous regional awards "A Place In My Heart" was twice voted Song of the Year by the Northeast Country Music Assoc. An eight-year stint in Nashville began in 1998. He moved back to the upstate New York area in 2006, the same year he performed at North-by-Northeast in Toronto, having placed over forty songs with independent artists during his time in Music City. His song "16 Bars" is a standard all over Texas and can be seen on YouTube as performed by Rick Sousley...the voice has been likened to a blend of Kenny Loggins, Dan Fogelberg and Lee Greenwood a little whiskey and a lot of emotion and that's what sets it apart when you come to a performance you don't just hear the music, you feel it and you'll leave humming those original melodies and wiping tears away from those touching ballads like "Angels Have Wings", "Time Is Gonna Fly" and "A Year Ago Today" which tore up the country and R&B charts on Garageband.com. He has played extensively, warming up for the Judds, Willie and Sawyer Brown and has performed at the world famous venues Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, New York and the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville..moved back to New York in May 2006....2006 saw the release of the critically acclaimed CD "Northern Lights", as well as an appearance at North-by-Northeast in Toronto.  The CD features Harbor, 2X1, and The View From My Heart...a short hiatus from releasing product saw him focusing on his other love, musicals, and two Biblically-based musicals The Son of Man and Moses were produced.

2011 ended with the release of the two-disc set "An Adirondack Suite" followed closely in 2012 with "Fire Towers and Shanties" and 2013 saw the release of "Eclecticity".  2014 will witness three other CD projects, including "Morning Songs and Harbor Lights", a stirring tribute to the career of Dan Fogelberg. Later in the fall there will be "The Living Soil" and "Tracks and Trails".
