Doug Organ Trio

Doug Organ Trio

Doug Organ trio features an eclectic mix of music. From original tunes to arrangements of familiar pop songs by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Herp Albert to the grooves of John Scofield to arrangements of jazz standards, DOT has a little something for everyone.

Yup, Doug Organ plays the organ. Inspired by a long and proud tradition of greasy organ trios, Doug Organ Trio aims to prove Canadian jazz doesn't have to be high-brow, ponderous, or chilly.

Made of five original tunes and four choice AM radio inspired covers, this self-titled disc is the debut from Edmonton's own Doug Organ (who's played with luminaries such as PJ Perry, Jake Langley, Jack DeKeyzer and Mike Rud, and produced albums for Christian Hansen & The Autistics, Dave Babcock, and many others), Peter Belec (guitARTist who's lent his signature sound to Ann Vriend, Colleen Brown, and Jeff Hendrick), and Jamie Cooper (Edmonton Symphony Orchestra plays Zappa, Edmonton Jazz Orchestra, Kent Sangster's Obsessions Octet).
