Gans, Brown, Jones & Steel. It may sound like a high end accounting firm but the reality is if you happen to catch just one of these Voice and Singing impressionist acts, you'll feel like a million bucks. On your next Vegas vacation, make sure to see one or all four of these talented voice impressionists.
Danny Gans http://www.dannygans.com
Danny Gans nightly sells out his 1,250 seat theatre at the Mirage. Gans does a spot on impersonation of Al Pacino, his Austin Powers is gut busting and George Burns in an old time favorite. Equally impressivie is his singing talents. Gans can go form Louie Armstrong to Anita Baker in a flash. His show is a bit predictable, especially if you have seen him one time, but his technique and passion are well worth seeing again. He's been called The king of impersonators, it's obvious that
Gans has it down to an art. Tickets start at $100 a seat and can be hard to come by the day of the show so call ahead.
Gordie Brown http://www.gordiebrown.com
You are in for a wild ride if you go see Gordie Brown at the Venetian. Expect a fresh and unique show each and every time you see him. Think show host Jim Carrey meets Dean Martin. Speaking of Jim Carrey, Brown not only mimics his voice, but has every head turn and knee jerk gesture down. He does a fantastic Tom Cruise without even speaking a word. His comedy is fresh too, with a hilarious comedy skit of Jack Nicholson, Christopher Walken and Clint Eastwood in a golf scramble. Tickets start at $65 and he has two shows to accomodate demand on Friday and Saturday night.
Larry G. Jone http://www.larrygjones.com
Larry G. Jones may be one of the most honest stage performers in Vegas. He performs nightly at the Fitzgerald on Freemont Street. His use of props is excellent and he brings memorable characters to life like Ross Perot, George W. Bush, Cher and Willie Nelson. He also does some fantastic vocals covering some of the great hits of the 60s and 70s. His show may not be as elaborate as some, but it packs a powerful punch and is well worth the $30 a seat cover.
Doug Steel http://www.dougsteel.com
If you are looking to hire an impressionist for your next Vegas convention entertainment than Doug Steel is your man. Standing 6'5" he does a remarkable and believable Arnhold Schwartenegger who interacts with the crowd. In a heartbeat he'll switch characters to Paul Lynd interacting with the CEO and then Jack Nicholson will talk to the ladies leaving the crowd in stitches. Steel also has a wide list of singing acts he covers including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, the Bee Gees, Beatles and Elvis. He customizes each show to fit the audience and has performed most of the banquet halls on the strip. This is a welcome option if you can't get to the impressionist, then let the impressionist come to you. - American Chronicle
