Dove Shack

The Dove Shack which consist of Bo Roc, 2Scoop & C Knight, is a world renowned HipHop group from Long Beach California that exploded on the music scene in 1995 as part of the West Coast G-Funk era which was spearheaded by such musical legends as Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg & Warren G. The group made their writing and performing debut with the song "This Is the Shack" which was featured on Warren G's chart topping album ’’Regulate…G Funk Era” (5 million copies sold). It was at the recording session for this song that the groups unique rap talents were discovered by then Def Jam records head A&R Chris”Baby Chris” Lighty who was so blown back by the groups sound that he immediately picked up the phone and called the labels then President Lyor Cohen who proceeded to fly in from New York in the following days and immediately ink a deal with the group. The group (Dove Shack) then went on to once again find success with the now classic hit single “Summertime In The Lbc” which was featured as the 2nd single from Russell Simmons 1995 movie soundtrack “The Show” (2 million copies sold) and as the biggest single from the group’s debut gold album which was also entitled “This Is The Shack”. Even though the group had reached major success with multiple records in radio rotation and a world wide tour jointly sponsored by both Nike & Reebok it found itself without a music label home after being caught up in the politics of the acquisition of Def Jams parent company Polygram by Universal Music Group, fortunately group members were able to retain their relevance by going on to work with fellow hip hop artist such as 2pac, Snoop Dogg and E40, plus other music legends such as Lamont Dozier In 2008 the group took their talents overseas once again by signing a deal and releasing their sophomore album “Reality’s Got Me Tied Up” in Japan and Europe only, an album which is certified platinum by international standards. Now in 2015 the group has embarked another musical journey to once again capture the hearts and minds of the music fans both locally and abroad with the release of their third studio album “Parties & Hard Times” is now back with "Party & Hard times" 2015 release a new album explaining their time in the industry and transition of music.
