Biography

Dove Hunter is a Seattle based indie-experimental-electro group that uniquely combines strong and dynamic female vocals with layered backgrounds of keyboards, synths, ambient sounds and electronic beats. A DJ provides scratches and sound effects such as ringing phones, landing planes and howling wolves . Rachel Herbig (lead vox) singing style has been likened to the indie version of Tori Amos. She has range and power which she reserves for the most impactual of moments creating a dynamic and emotionally diverse style. Eric Herbig creates Postal Service or Air inspired backgrounds combining punchy electric pianos, sweeping synths, driving beats and warm ambient sounds. The brother and sister combo recently connected with Joe Heenan (DJ) whose use of sound effects emphasizes lyrical content and can emphasize moods ranging from mellow and relaxing to dramatic and emotional. The three are originally from Chicago where they were in bands with members of Lucky Boys Confusion (formerly with Elektra Records), Swizzle Tree, and Starter Kit. Dove Hunter is a relatively new project. They recently completed a new demo.
