Bio

The Down and Dirty Blues Band is a group of up-and-coming musicians from Chicago, IL. Soon after meeting in the Columbia College Blues Ensemble in the fall of 2006, they formed their own band. From their humble beginning under the wing of Chicago's own Fernando Jones, they've channeled the soul and raw emotion that embodies the blues.

Their electrifying stage presence and unforgettable talent have landed them shows at The Chicago Blues Festival, The Taste of Chicago, Buddy Guy's Legends, The Navy Pier Beer Garden, Kingston Mines (requested by Ms. Koko Taylor), Willie Dixon's Birthday Bash at the Blues Heaven Foundation (requested by Ms. Marie Dixon), The South Shore Cultural Center, Lee's Unleaded Blues, the Red Line Tap, the Heartland Cafe, Phyllis' Musical Inn, Cafe Duvall, and the Elbo Room. In September 2007 they headlined the 3rd Annual Agatite Street Festival on the North Side of Chicago.

More recently, in November, 18 year-old guitar player Nathan Graham was featured in Buddy Guy's monthly blues letter as an amazing new Chicago talent. In early December Down & Dirty won Columbia College's annual "Rock the Mic" battle of the bands competition. They were then asked to have one of their originals featured on the 2008 CUMA (Columbia Urban Music Association) compilation album to be released sometime next spring.
