Very passionate and emotional with a ton of energy. The vocals on track seven, “Seep”, reminds me of Mike Patton on FNM’s album Angel Dust. I love it! It is part of the built in instinct of mankind to absorb everything surrounding him and store it within the depths of himself. This may lead a fellow human to wonder that, if this man is absorbing and storing the events that surround his life, good or bad, when, if ever, will he have the chance to release these stored events and make room for those he will endure in the future? If he is able to retrieve and release these life’s occurrences that are stored up and building within him, will he do so in an orderly, controlled fashion acceptable to the structure of this society that he is forced to live in?
The five men who create “Down Cycle” have responded to this ever- present privation in society by making a pact that, together they would indeed release these encumbrances exposed to them in life. They have taken the basic structure of a musical group and are using this as an outlet to divest themselves of these hardships that humanity is forced to
carry. By channeling these experiences through vocal expression they are better able to express and communicate their discomfort in a form that their listeners can better understand, while still providing a musical accompaniment that is quickly becoming the soundtrack to their lives.
This is the stimulus of DOWN CYCLE
