The best kept secret in music

"Downslide call their sound 'an eclectic, electric mix', and while it's perhaps not for those who aren't fans of this genre already, it's accessible enough to attract braver metal virgins.
Opening track 'Can You Hear Me?' has hauntingly Papa Roach-esque vocals, curiously meshed with electro."
The Verdict: "Having previously supported Panic Cell, I expected a lot from this album, and on the whole they don't disappoint. Downslide are, in a nutshell, Avenge Sevenfold and Skindred's lovechild. Local metal at its best."
7/10 - Exposed Magazine
"More and more labels are trying to pick up 'the next big thing' by signing bands at premature stages. Sheffield's Downslide being a prime example. The ideas are there: the familiar metalcore screaming, nice electronic production bells and whistlesand varied metallic tones and devices - as well as the songs.
The band sound like a talented music college project band inspired by Lostprophets, early Atreyu and Skindred. The band ask the question 'What Will It Take' and if the question referes to success, the answer is bit longer refining each song into a finely tuned sonic rocket.
If Downslide stick at it and spend a year or so playing this live, their next album could pay back the promise shown here tenfold!"
6/10 - Metal Hammer
"Five tracks of thunder with a metal hammer and bruising guitars tearing your ears off. Still maybe need to find their niche but Downslide offer a fair amount of respectability to a sound a lot try to create properly but end up failing miserably." - COMA Magazine
"There's a refreshing sense of honesty about this band. No pretensions with Downslide; they are here to rock. Or should that be ROCK! 'Don't Trust Anyone', the second track is the standout track for me. They've been hurt in the past, and now it's time to go it alone, guitar in hand, and all the while singing some well arranged 4-part harmonies as they go on.
It's what you do if you're in Downslide. They've been playing all around Sheffield for a couple of years now, recently leaving the crowd at Corporation chanting for more, so they've certainly got something." - Sandman Magazine
