"Down To This Mini Review"

January 2006

"Down To This (dtt) is back with their first release under the Versatile Records flag and is starting off the new leg of their career by capturing your eardrums and not letting go. Songs like 'Funeral' and 'Empty Rooms' grab you right away with their catchy choruses and melodic flows from Timö’s guitar and Jason’s bass. 'Closer' and 'Our Monologues' is filled with Derek Lee’s hard hitting beats that's great for any toe-tapping, head-bobbing, mosh-pitting crowd and also shows off Gyom's strong vocal style and range. Overall, the band's latest effort is a triumph. The maturity and diverseness of the sound and the band's tight playing is leaps beyond their previous release. This band isn't just for metal followers anymore; any rock fan needs to add dtt to their 'must have' list." - Mike, radiomojo.com

"Demo CD Review"

August 2005
Review of Down To This Self-Titled Demo

“This band likely has a shot at pushing their music onto mainstream rock radio, and definitely has a shot at making it onto satellite radio. Their album has crunchy riffs, catchy melodies, and a talented, strong vocalist (who sometimes reminds me of Sully from Godsmack) to keep the listener’s attention. Pulsing attitude and infectious energy tear through this album from start to finish. Currently signed to an independent label based out of the DC area, the band plans on releasing another album in the near future, so they probably won’t be able to play as many live shows while in the studio. In the meantime, however, check them out online at www.downtothis.com to hear snippits off the album.”

4/5 stars - Gina, Paragon Music Magazine

"Indie Artist Showcase Review"

II. Marketability: 3/5 stars
III. Website/EPK: 5/5 stars
IV. Final rating: 4/5 stars

Comments: "Down To This rocks with the authority of a Seven Mary Three or a Yellowcard. Their muscular alternative rock seethes with passion, which the band backs up with able performances and sensitive lyrics." - Music-Tech.net

""Funeral" CD Single Review"

March 2006

Juggling catchy hooks and infectious vocals, Down to This has been turning heads in my local Washington, DC scene. Sounding like some of those post nu-metal/crossover bands like Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle, Down to This is impressive with radio-friendly tracks and a look that labels are looking for. - Smother.net

Bio

DOWN TO THIS is the mid-Atlantic's hottest and most dynamic heavy rock group. Formed in Northern Virginia in 2003, the band has quickly amassed a dedicated fan base performing throughout the eastern United States.

In the midst of touring to support their first, self produced and self-titled album, Down to This was discovered and signed by Versatile Records in 2004. Down to This quickly began working with Dragonfly Studios to record the band’s second album. The album, which was produced by producer/engineer Scott Spelbring (SR-71, Plunge, Welbilt) and mixed by Jeff Juliano (Lifehouse, John Mayer, Rachel Yamagata, Clutch), is due to be released in fall 2006.

“Funeral,” the upcoming album’s first hit single has been featured and played with regularity on DC’s rock station, DC 101, as well as in the Richmond and Baltimore radio markets. “Empty Rooms,” the band’s first video, was produced by Andrew Paul Bouser (SR-71, Gym Class Heroes, Butch Walker, Armor for Sleep) and is scheduled for release in fall 2006. Both songs are currently featured by several online retailers including iTunes, MSN, Napster, Yahoo! And FYE.

“Overall, the band's latest effort is a triumph … any rock fan needs to add [Down to This] to their 'must have' list,” writes Radiomojo.com.

Down to This’ recently scheduled tour dates include the Music is Life Festival, Meany Fest and shows with Powerman 5000 and Agent Orange.

Fans can experience Down to This’ forward-sounding sonic aggression and unbridled energy at venues throughout the United States as they will be touring in Fall 2006 to support the release of their upcoming album.
