Down With Naked

An emerging folk-rock, groove and funk band, Boulder's own Down With Naked is breaking the seams of the Colorado music scene with their stellar original compositions and awesome live performances. Packing local venues around the Colorado front range, DWN creates a powerful array of rhythm and heart moving melody. With emphasis on song writing and three part harmonies, DWN perfectly balances an array of singer/song writer music with a tight rhythm section that explores complex poly-rhythms and straight forward funkin hard grooves.

Originally formed by Jon and Rosh in early 2003 as a two piece acoustic folk-rock duo, DWN has expanded to a five piece ensemble giving their songs a full, solid sound and progressive live groove that promises to hit the touring festival scene in summer 06'.

With a focus on building community, a sense of family and the creative process, audience members at DWN shows often engage in the the creative process as well. Large murals are often present at shows for people to actively participate and paint simultaneously along with the bands music. Along with sushi rolling and apple pie baking pre-parties as part of their festive happenings, the band strives to eliminate the audience/band gap by creating a sense of community at thier shows. DWN is developing a vibrant buzz in the Denver/Boulder Colorado music scene.

This Boulder Colorado-based band has an talented line up of local musicians who mostly met through the music department at Naropa University, as well as the Univeristy of Colorado. DWN is known for many different guest appearances ranging from piano, sax, dunbek, tabla, congo, and guest singers. This mesh of magical melody, mood, tight rhythm, original compositions and creative covers takes the listener to a fun and danceable mind space everyone can enjoy.
