The best kept secret in music

"Punk-Rock Politique au Festival Villageois"

Le Festival Villageois de L'Annonciation entamait sa 10e édition le 30 Juin dernier avec le groupe Punk-Rock Politique Drag Us Down, originaire de la Région. Avis aux intéressés, ils seront en spectacle un peu partout au Québec cet été et entreront en septembre pour enregistrer leur premier album. - L'Information du Nord - L'Annonciation

Drag Us Down have recorded one ep : Rotten Society, in 2004. It features four tracks and one of those has appeared on a Fight The Mentality Records comp : "Let The Battle Begin", who's featuring some of the greatest Canadian punk rock bands : such as Belvedere, Five Knuckle Surprise, GFK and featuring the great band Bedouin Soundclash.

Drag Us Down is now recording their first full-lenght album, Placebo Effect, which is going to be out in 2007.

Feeling a bit camera shy

Drag Us Down comes from the Bad Religion song "American Jesus". Seems like it represented the band in its whole part : a way of thinking that rely to unity and human being brotherhood. We take this phrase to put people in context : If you drag them down, you'll drag us down too...

So it began in 2001, after a couple of months trying to make something happen, something has happen : after a couple of shows, seems like we had a feedback from more than people, but the promoters to local venues really liked our sound and our songs. So we decided to record some stuff and we got a call from a promoter and all begun.

Drag Us Down is basically influenced by Anti-Flag, The Unseen and Dropkick Murphys. We try to spread a message of peace, and to vehicle it by the style of music that represents us the most : Punk Rock.
