"'Lead singer Lucy looked like a film star'"

“(Drag Your Heels) had a sense of occasion that separates the wheat from the chaff, as it were.

Lead singer Lucy looked like a film star, a demure elegance that was highlighted by the large coat with matching fur collars and cuffs.

I only mention this because it made an impression, an impression that was quickly impressed by a short and snappy, punk opening number.” - Surface Unsigned Festival

Bio

Ask London born boy/girl duo Drag Your Heels what their influences are, and you can expect a heady mix of everything from sixties girl groups, 70s rock 'n' roll, leather jackets and vintage dresses; to glitter, eyeliner, and southern comfort.

A mish-mash that may be, but it somehow manages to accurately capture the sound of Drag Your Heels, who stray from the current mainstream predictability of indie and 80’s tinged electro, and instead descend into dirtier, and more bluesy rock ’n’ roll territory, all while maintaining their dance-floor-friendly credentials.

Imagine a cross between the voices of Debbie Harry and Beth Ditto, and you’d be halfway to imagining the sultry vocals of front girl Lucy ’Loveheart’, while the guitar riffs of Tommy ’Rocket’ sound like the musical love child of The Stooges, Generation X, and Jack White.

Armed with infectious songs and energetic live shows, the pair have gigged across some of London's best loved music venues since late 2007 (Barfly, Dublin Castle and the Old Blue Last to name a few), not to mention headlining club night Hang The DJ at Sheffield's O2 arena.
