Having grown up together on the sandy beaches of Clearwater, Florida, brother and sister duo Drake and Sofia have been making music together since childhood. After splitting up to dip their toes in various musical projects for a few years, the pair recently reunited to form their current indie rock project titled "Drake and Sofia".
On their newest EP, We Had Everything Planned Out, the siblings have managed to create a brand of indie rock that is comforting and nostalgic, while succeeding at tearing at the heart strings with beautiful and honest naivety. The EP showcases the creamy-smooth, high-register vocals of Drake Sweet, intertwined with the soulful and heartwarming cries of his sister, Sofia. The songs are performed over the backdrop of a tastefully structured harmony of guitars, piano, bass and drums.
Since the release of their EP in June, 2011, Drake and Sofia have managed to gain some hype and momentum, bringing their energetic and emotionally sincere performance to cities throughout Florida. The group is geared up for a full U.S. tour and has no intention of letting up.
