"Taking Draztic Meazurz in the hip hop game"

Filled with passion and heart, Hartford, Connecticut sensations Draztic Meazurz are poised to make waves in the hip hop world, igniting the mic with their infectious flow. Coming off a mention in the February issue of the iconic The Source magazine, and winning the 50 Mics tournament in CT, the two-headed rap phenomenon recently inked a deal with Deka Records out of Phoenix, Arizona. After two successful mix tapes, their debut full length, Industry Takedown: What More Can You Ask For? Is in the works, with Draztic Meazurz picking up more steam each and every day.

Originally formed in 1999, Factah and Shadow joined forces in the Hartford hip hop scene, dominating MC battles and eventually showcasing their talents opening for major acts such as Foxy Brown, Redman, Nas, Wu Tang Clan, Rell, and Lil Mo. The group also frequently collaborates with the singer and songwriter, Kena B, as well as fellow hip hop group, Spot Rushers, combining their exceptional talents to further reinforce their authentic style. Using their local popularity as a springboard, Draztic Meazurz receives airplay on Hartford’s Hot 93.7, and is featured in the latest issue of Street Connfinement, which is distributed throughout the East coast.

Both members bring a specific style to the group, using their skills to create a true, unique sound that still remains within the confines of traditional hip hop. Fans of behemoth contemporaries such as D-Block or G-Unit will quickly take to Draztic Meazurz’ flow, while followers of earlier, old school rap can discover something genuine from their music. Their beats can be as hard as concrete, especially during songs like “Shadow of Death” or “DJ Chiszle Drop,” while other tracks like “Ride or Die Chick” and “It’s Time to Party” are tight club bangers. Their lyrics range anywhere from cars, money, and women, to the music business and their hometown of Hartford, CT. While some topics might seem a touch generic, Draztic Meazurz uses a heartfelt and honest approach to their writing, remaining sincere in their approach to hip hop.

Draztic Meazurz will be featured guests of the 50 Mics tournament competition at their next performance on March 5th at The Warehouse in Hartford. Industry Takedown is currently underway, and with the group on the verge of a major breakout, the debut LP can be just the spark they need to vault their way to the next level of rap. Keep your eyes peeled and ears open, as this is just the beginning for this dynamic hip hop duo. Songs are also available to stream online for free at their Myspace and Reverb Nation sites.
