Bio

"Powerful. Energetic. Understanding of the battle between good and evil. Truthful regarding the state of our generation."

Those are words that have been associated with Dreading Sundown. A hardcore/experimental Christian band, out of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Dreading Sundown has garnered the respect and support of long-time area musicians in just a few short months. The sheer power of the voice, and the message behind Jimmy LeCompt's vocals, are bringing the young people out to see what all the buzz is about. With 5 years experience in the local music scene, Jimmy LeCompt (younger brother of John LeCompt - guitarist for the grammy-winning band Evanescence) is, along with band mates Kalen Bruce, Sean Sanders, Joe Max Denty, and Chris Hallerberg, causing quite a commotion. Voted the Best Band in Hot Springs on a recent poll by one of Hot Springs' busiest venues, The Attic, these guys put on a show that is full of energy. They draw the crowd in as they deliver their message, and the reaction from the crowd shows that they appreciate the effort. They are already opening for national acts such as Five Bolt Main and Depswa, and getting the attention of industry people and merchandisers. Endorsed by Dirtbag Clothing and Pro Tone Pedals, these boys are earning the respect they are given.

When asked about the project and how it came about, this is what LeCompt had to say:
"In September of 05, I felt like trying to whip up the project that once was tried. It was set to be a side project of Laity, but Laity singer Christine Demeo felt she was being called to do praise and worship. So with Laity splitting, this was now a full time project for everyone. It was thought impossible that Chris would want to join, especially with his ambient experimental project 2 years in the making called "Drove". Devin Castle made the call, and shortly after the pieces came together. It didn't feel right without Sean in the mix, so we brought him in and Dreading Sundown was complete.

Dreading Sundown has a lot of meanings, so it is hard to really focus and describe it as one thing. It isn't an emo name where we were all sitting around and said...hey you know what, let's put Autumn somewhere in it. That would be really wow. It has a vampirish feel. It is about all the evil that surrounds you in your sleep, draining the lives of others. Waking up and seeing what it was left behind you."

With the signing of the band to Level One Management in January 2006, and the release of their cd We Are The Fight in February, the band is sure to achieve the success they desire.
