Bio

Dream Culture was formed in late 2013 when vocalist Evan Leima (formerly Eat The Soundtrack), began collaborating with lead guitarist Billy Ross (whom Evan met through high school drumline) in Billy's basement in Lawrenceville, Ga. They would jam out random songs with Evan taking over drums and Billy on guitar. Eventually the two decided to start actually writing songs, and they came up with the song "Afterglow". Evan invested in a Tascam Dp-24 Portastudio 24 track recording platform so they could record music. Afterglow was the only song Billy ended up being involved in, and from that point on Evan took over the writing and recording of all the music.
The two decided it was time to actually start rehearsing the songs that were being recorded so they enlisted drummer Chad Andrews (whom they had also met through drumline), and bassist Adam Smith (whom Evan had been doing musical projects with since they were only 13). They played their first gig in the parking lot of Peachtree Ridge High School, and went on to perform at Swayze's Venue, The Masquerade, and Graveface Records. After playing those gigs, Evan decided it was time to hunker down and actually finish some sort of material to be released. An album was planned, and from February-April of 2014 Evan spent most of his free time in the studio recording new material, and finishing material that had been recorded previously. In the end, it was decided that there was enough material for a 7 song EP, which was later shortened to 5 songs.
Evan met Miguel "Coach" Ruiz, an audio engineer, at the restaurant he was working at. The two hit it off and Evan proceeded to have vocal recording sessions at Miguel's home studio, and after that Miguel began mastering the EP. During this time Adam Smith was replaced by Kevin Hargita, whom was another drumline buddy of Evan's. Also during this time, the band started playing shows again. There included shows at The Vinyl, and Craze Tavern. The EP was mastered and completed in November of 2014.
The EP was released digitally for customers to pay what they want for it on December 11, 2014. Following the release of the EP, Evan invested in merchandise such as shirts, stickers, and physical copies of the CD itself to be sold at shows. On January 13, 2015, Dream Culture played their first radio show on WUOG 90.5 FM, and gave their first live interview. Dream Culture is currently gigging and working on adding a keyboardist into the lineup, Shane Perryman. Evan is always writing new material, and will be relocating himself and the band to Athens, GA in April/May of 2015.
