"From 'Temporary Shore' EP review, Jan '08"

“The music moves dynamically with clever lyrics, flawless key changes and smooth time and tempo changes. I'd expect this level of production from Sony BMG, not an independently released record.”
- By Vincent Giles for Furst Media

"From 'The Key Tree' review, Aug '07"

“Their sound has been described as acoustic folk rock, but that really does little justice to the startling maturity of their innovative music…Listening to this music I feel the majesty of an eagle soaring through an infinite sky.”
- By Bradfield Dumpleton for Indie-CDs.com

"From live review (Indie Initiative), Nov '05"

“The front man is an exceptional guitarist and can be compared to classic Blues and Roots artists such as Jeff Lang and John Butler”
- By Garrett Bithell & Claire Jarrett for The Brag

"From live review, Jun '06"

“The singer has a fine, distinctive voice and the delivery showed both he strength and subtlety to do justice to the songs. The bass player and drums powered it along, reminding me of English bands such as Fairport Convention…Young musicians playing with soul and conviction.”
- By Neil Wedd for Inpress

"From 'The Smokey Mirror' demo review, Jul '05"

“I can imagine ships departing to these songs, the timeless style lends itself to epic journeys”
- TAS Music Press

"From 'Temporary Shore' review, Jan '08"

“Yet another great release from a confident, intelligent & original trio with a strong sense of themselves despite their youth - not afraid to shine in the face of so much contemporary rock mediocrity.”
- Bradfield Dumpleton for Indie-CD's.com

Bio

Dream Awake is a four piece Alt. Rock band - the brainchild of Aussie duo Josh Wilkinson and Jill Krasnicki.

Toronto based dual citizens Josh and Jill approach their craft with a fierce intensity, with an emphasis on clever dynamics and male/female vocal harmonies.
Since 2004 this ambitious, self managed duo have honed their skills at a host of renowned venues and festivals world-wide, released two independent EP’s and earned a respectful international following with a reputation as a band to be taken seriously.

Unlike the multitude of bands out there that claim to be unique but look and sound exactly the same, Dream Awake seriously stand out with a look, sound and story all of their own.

Having travelled the globe and sampled the music scenes of many a country and culture, Dream Awake bring a depth of experience and worldly outlook to both their song-writing and stage presence.

Combine this with a group of seriously talented musicians who know how to put on a great show and you’ve got one amazing project to look out for. This is Dream Awake.
