"Dream B.I.G – Life of a Dreamer Mixtape Review"

After giving it a full listen through, I can safely say that it is worth lending the latest project from Dream B.I.G aka “Dream Beyond Ignorant Gestures” an ear. “Life of a Dreamer,” hosted by DJ MoneyBags is a straight up, no gimmicks, refreshing hip-hop album. - Fresh New Tracks

"Former Celtics Star, Musical Acts to Headline at DA’s Annual Basketball Event"

Former Boston Celtics guard and Hub native Dana Barros and a live musical act will join Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley next week at the DA’s annual Basketball for Peace event in Dorchester next week, with every young attendee receiving free tickets to the Boston Sports Museum.

Now in their third year, the Feb. 22 games will also feature free food and drink from mainstay supporters at The Olive Garden, which also provides refreshments for Conley’s Soccer for Peace tournaments each summer.

“The success of Soccer for Peace convinced us to launch a winter event with the same goal of peace through teamwork and cooperation,” Conley said. “Basketball for Peace brings the city’s young people together for a day of athletic fun that embraces sportsmanship and fair play. Whether it’s on the court or in a courthouse, those are values that serve everyone well.”

Basketball for Peace was conceived as a way to bring schoolchildren some social and athletic interaction with law enforcement during the winter months. As the summer soccer tournament does, Basketball for Peace offers community residents the chance to meet and play with prosecutors, victim advocates, and law enforcement partners in a safe, fun, healthy environment.

New this year will be a half-time show featuring the musical group Dream BIG and solo artist Expo. Dream BIG – who urge listeners to “Dream Beyond Ignorant Gestures” – are based here in Boston, and Expo is a 20-year-old student at Suffolk University in his offstage hours. Additionally, the Boston Sports Museum, located at the TD Garden, has donated free museum tickets to all young attendees.

Expected to take part in the games this year are youngsters between 11 and 15 from the Bird Street Community Center, the Lilla G. Frederick Middle School, Project RIGHT, the Revere Police Activity League, and Revere Public Schools. The games will begin at 2:00 p.m. and run until 5:00 in the Frederick Middle School gymnasium. Media are invited.

Expo

Expo is a songwriter and Hip Hop artist of the Dream B.I.G Music Group. The knowledge and life experiences he implements in his music helps him reinvent a style that is suitable for all listeners. As common as it is today to label a Hip Hop artist and classify him or her to a certain style, Expo is constantly reinventing the ideas he integrates in his music in order to prevent this. As he approaches the industry and his love of music with an open mind, he is always intending to express innovation in his work. He has active involvement in his collaborations with his cousin/Dream B.I.G teammate TK. In addition to this, he has multiple songs produced by Dream B.I.G’s own Sid Insa and Brett Lee. Expo also has a strong relationship with Surefire Music Group, where he has songs such as the club/college friendly hit, “College Girls” (featuring TK) and his violence prevention single, “No Weapon Needed” produced and engineered by Surefire’s own, Brendon Brady. Born and raised by his single mother under a Nigerian lifestyle with three sisters in Lowell, MA, being a hip hop artist has been Expo’s dream since he was at the age of 5. What made this ambition more achievable was his likelihood of this gesture being desired by TK as well, whom Expo considers more than simply his cousin, but his “little big brother”. Throughout his years of pursuing this music and now living in Boston, MA, Ex has made it a lifelong commitment to make good conceptual music that represents himself and his general insight of the people.

TK

TK is a songwriter and R&B artist of the Dream B.I.G Music Group. Born in the city of Lagos, Nigeria where his love for music started, he acknowledges the fact that he has been singing for as long as he had the ability to talk. He grew up in a round down ghetto in Lagos called Orila Coca Lagos; this is where he originated his style and insight of life. Many natives from this ghetto neighborhood would agree that Orila Coca Lagos was the place where music is all they had. TK was the only child of his mother growing up, but now the present day scenario came to be him and his mom living with her older sister and her husband with their 4 sons that he looked upon as his blood brothers. As you can see, TK doesn’t fit the common statistic of R&B artists who are from a family of musicians. He is not sure where his musical talent came from (in this case everyone but him declares its natural) but he believes that his voice and talent brought him a long way. He feels that his brother, friend and cousin, Expo, really influenced him to become the best artist he can be as he has made TK to believe in himself. TK has done outstanding work with several artists of different styles and taste and some talented producers. His love for music as a whole motivates him to enrich the hearts of his listeners in a new and original way.
