"Stylistically this sits somewhere between the Cure, Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine (minus the feedback)" Rev. Cheesus Crust- Tertangala

“intriguingly offbeat pop…with an imaginative element” Paul Freeman- San Mateo Daily News, San Fransisco.

Imagine the sort of music you’d hear in your head after staying awake for three days straight, if you happened to have a gift for gently powered melodies, and you’ll be somewhere near the world of Dreamgirl and the Motorist…

Biography

Dreamgirl and the Motorist is Carolyn Nowaczyk. A self-taught, multi-instrumentalist who writes and records all of her music in a home studio.

Dreamgirl's influences stem from the Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, PJ Harvey and Nick Cave to early pop bands of the New Romantics era such as Duran Duran.

Blended with her own natural individual style, Dreamgirl and the Motorist writes unique, often dark, and sometimes light, melodic songs that take the listener on a visual journey.

By day she supports her musical habits as a designer with the media while immersing herself in her languid music by night. With dreams of composing soundtracks for films she makes her own film clips in which to put her music to.

While Dreamgirl and the Motorist has taken on many live forms and continues to do so, she prefers the process of writing and recording her music and the challenges that can bring.

So You Don't

Written By: Dreamgirl and the Motorist

SO YOU DON'T - Dreamgirl and the Motorist
(c) and (p) Dreamgirl and the Motorist

You've worked it out now
You're just fine
You're doing much better
Than I could have done
You've worked it out now
You're just fine
You're doing much better
Than I could have done

So you don't need me to hurt you anymore
So you don't need me to hurt you anymore

You've worked it out now
You're just fine
You're doing much better
Than I could have done
You've worked it out now
You're just fine
And you get better with the
Passing of time

So you don't need me to hurt you anymore
So you don't need me to hurt you anymore
So you don't need me to hurt you anymore
So you don't need me to hurt you anymore

So here are the ways that you can leave me
So here are days where we can part ways
So here are the ways that we can both live
One by one with only what we want to give

So you don't need me to hurt you anymore
So you don't need me to hurt you anymore
So you don't need me to hurt you anymore
So you don't need me to hurt you anymore

Circus Animals

CIRCUS ANIMALS - Dreamgirl and the Motorist
(c) and (p) Dreamgirl and the Motorist

This town has become so small
Not like we left it at all
Either it has changed or we have both grown
Beyond this place we called our home

Chorus
Come over here, come along for the ride
It's a circus up here
In this mind of mine

Everyday I can't show you how I feel
So how can we keep it real?
From the outside we seem worlds apart
But not when it comes to our hearts

Chorus
Come over here, come along for the ride
It's a circus up here
In this mind of mine
Of mine...in this mind of mine (repeat x3)

It's come to an end
We don't need to pretend
it's working
When it's not working
We can exist as friends
and be together to the end
If we want to
If we want to (x6)
And we do
And so we do

Close My Eyes So I Can See

Written By: Dreamgirl and the Motorist

CLOSE MY EYES SO I CAN SEE - Dreamgirl and the Motorist
(c) and (p) Dreamgirl and the Motorist

I'm looking and searching but it isn't even here
I'm looking, it's not working...It isn't here

I don't know your name
But I really want to find out
I don't know your name
But I'm willing to find out
Give me your name
So I can say it out loud
I want to know your name
And I see you in the crowd

I'm looking and searching but it isn't even here
I'm looking, it's not working...You're still not here

I don't know your name
But I'm willing to find out
I don't know your name
But I really want to find out
Give me your name
So I can say it out loud
I want to know your name
And I see you in the crowd

And I'll see you today when I'm not looking
'Cause you're pointed out to me

I'll be in Sydney today and there you'll be
Standing next to me

I'll be driving my car today and there you'll be
At the lights beside me

I'll be in the supermarket today and there you'll be
In the line in front of me

I'll be in a gallery today and there you'll be
Looking at the same image as me

Looking at the same image as me

So when I stop looking, you will be there
So I close my eyes so I can see

So when I stop looking, you will be there
So I close my eyes so I can see

Colourblind

Written By: Dreamgirl and the Motorist

COLOURBLIND - Dreamgirl and the Motorist
(c) and (p) Dreamgirl and the Motorist 2011

You're colourblind
You're finding time to
see what you have missed
A piece of your life
Just floats on by
On a river of your fears
You no longer feel
Cause they're not real
They're just biding on your time
Seeing what they can steal

(repeat)

Fisherman

Written By: Dreamgirl and the Motorist

FISHERMAN - Dreamgirl and the Motorist
(c) and (p) Dreamgirl and the Motorist 2011

We'd all like to be forgiven
For the things that were done
when we were down there
We were too young
To know right from wrong
But we now know there are consequences
And we must pay for them

Under the house there's a secret
That lies hidden
Just waiting to be uncovered
To come to the surface
At last

We'd all like to be forgiven
For the things that were done
when we were down there
We were too young
To know right from wrong
But we now know there are consequences
And we must pay for them

Under the house there's a secret
That lies hidden
Just waiting to be uncovered
To come to the surface
Below the water
Weighed down in the river
A secret becomes uncovered
By a fisherman
On his day off

(repeat)
