"Dreaming Isabelle: Awake"

The background vocals contribute something new and offer a nice airy and somewhat cryptic, yet Gregorian-like harmony. - Music-Reviewer.com

"Dreaming Isabelle"

"There is something about Dreaming Isabelle that sounds like Charlottesville. That doesn't mean they sound like Dave Matthews. They are a new generation of rockers who focus on writing well-crafted songs while referencing the jammier roots of this area. For the most part, their music is focused and forward driven, but they keep this clarity from becoming "pop" by setting the solid riffs and vocal harmonies within sparse and ambient textures."

"Its refreshing to hear a rock band that cares about their vocals...referencing acoustic-driven rock."

"FEATURE: CD REVIEW"

"The band you need to be aware of...is 'Dreaming Isabelle.' If you like Modest Mouse or Jimmy Eats world than you'll love these guys."

"It's gritty and yet melodic, most definitely music I would describe as posh. Even though this is modern day music there are hints of influence from classics like The Beatles, it's just a bit updated. The music isn't over produced and the emphasis is not on showing multi-instrumentalism like many new indie artists. This band focuses on creating well written songs, their craft is definitely in their lyrics and blends." - Bring Me Up

"Dream come true: Dreaming Isabelle wins online battle"

"The ballots are in, and the winner of the Hook's Charlottesville Online Battle of the Bands is the young rock quartet Dreaming Isabelle."

"Most Downloaded Band in Charlottesville."
- The Hook

"New Dreams"

A nice mix of pop hooks and sleek production. - C-Ville Weekly

"The Tony Kornheiser Show"

"This kid is just a great, great singer...with a voice better than anybody right now on American Idol." -March 12, 2008 - Washington Post Radio

Bio

Although the members of Dreaming Isabelle hail from different parts of the region and nation, their music has been described as a sound that is very Charlottesville. That doesn't mean that they sound like Dave Matthews. Dreaming Isabelle is a new generation of rockers who write well-crafted songs while referencing the jammier roots of the area. For the most part, the music is focused and forward driven, but the band keeps this clarity from becoming "pop" by setting the solid riffs and vocal harmonies within sparse and ambient textures and occasional dissonant and distorted tones. These laid back sections create the mood at the beginning of the songs, inviting the audience in to share in the energy as the band drives forward with solid riffs and emotive vocals. While some of their hooks might sound like pop in another context, their arrangement skills make their songs memorable and energetic.

Dreaming Isabelle got started in Charlottesville’s unforgiving bar and music scene. Some of the bandmates had played together years before in various projects before finally uniting to create what might be their most promising musical venture. Having played their full share of cramped and stiflingly hot practice spaces and dimly-lit stages, Dreaming Isabelle happily played their way into music venues in New York, DC and Virginia.
