Bio

If you know a child 5 years or younger, Dress Théque have been evolving since before they were born.

Singer/guitarist Julian Wilkinson was given a home recording set up for his 19th birthday by his parents. Locking himself in his room with 2 and a half years passed and an overload of songs later, realised it was time to put together a live act for the project.

Moving to Sydney in the winter of 2010(which in Sydney is still quite warm) met Haligonian, born and raised Daniel Nutton. Through his wit and charm Julian was keen to get this man involved some how, so it was only too perfect when it was revealed that Dan was a keen drummer full of fast paced drum and bass grooves that would go on to be a key sound for the band.

Dress Thèque only had the chance to play a handful of shows in Sydney before Daniel was forced to return to the motherland. Julian keen to keep the creative juices flowing, went along with him and settled in Brighton.

A group was formed of friends but an obvious lack of guitars lingered. This was when Michael Sanday-Ferrier jumped on board, who also happened to be from the land down under(only from the west). Michael, a very strong product of the emerging Perth, Psychedelic/Rock scene, brought a fresh authentic tone and love for genuine music goodness to the group and Dress Théque was finally on its way to being the band it was meant to be.

The group spent 2012 playing a number of shows in Brighton and London, getting their feet more firmly planted in their new home.

At the start of 2013 with events lined up but short of a bass player, the band told Mislav Belobrajdic, a drifting traveler of Croatian heritage and friend to all members that he could continue to mooch off his friends in Brighton on the condition he fill the missing spot. Although Mislav happens to be a better guitarist than Julian and Michael put together, his love of country hooks keep him restricted to bass.

Dress Théque are in the works of new recordings with an aim to play some bangin' shows in and around 2013. Each member has brought forward their influences of the past few years, resulting in a blend of Psychedelic streams over fuzzed out meadows, uplifting shoegaze and snazzy drum skins.
