Still working on that hot first release.

Feeling a bit camera shy

As a young up and coming songwriter and producer, Drew Pinchotti displays the self-discipline, sacrifice, and persistence that only passion can inspire.

Drawn to music at an early age, Drew eschewed formal lessons and began to teach himself guitar and music around 13 yrs. of age. Showing an early knack for picking ethnic melodies  and TV and Broadway themes, Drew quickly began digesting enormous amounts of progressive rock from Dream Theater to Rush, Zappa to Zeppelin. He also began attending jam nights . Finally getting a chance, Drew, along with his brother on drums, ripped through the entire version of Rush’s 2112. The oldsters took note and had to give him props. Drew’s proving ground was just beginning. During this period Drew asked to play Bass on a local legends jam night. One night became two years as Drew absorbed everything that was musically thrown at him. Invaluable lessons were learned. In addition to learning classic rock and R&B repertoire; ensemble interplay, and a healthy dose of “the business”; being surrounded by veteran musicians helped shape his playing and provided an important shot of reality.

After hearing a few Facebook demo postings, Drew was approached by RMG label CEO, Jody Daniels, to record them. Jody enlisted the ample talents of Grammy award winning artist Billy Beck (The Ohio Players) . These sessions yielded two original tracks and one written for Drew. An offer to sign with the producers label was never finalized. Soon thereafter, an opportunity to work with yet another Grammy winning producer presented itself. So a working trip to San Francisco soon followed resulting in another 3 demo product and more invaluable experience and exposure. Later in 2011 music lawyer Brian Rohan paved the way for Drew to record at Bob Weir’s (Grateful Dead) TRI Studios in San Rafael, Ca. Four songs cut live and videotaped in early 2012 at TRI’s state-of-the-art facility represented where Drew was and hinted at where he was going. That morning’s performance has yet to be released to the public. In the meantime, Drew  kept busy playing colleges and festivals as guitarist for saxophonist Matt Corey, (5 time College Entertainer of the year) and a five month stint as guitarist for keyboardist Billy Becks Ohio Players.

Drew continues to write and produce material for himself and other artists. A collaboration with singer Sarah Burgess produced a song for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation’s Cure Duchenne research and awareness foundation. “Runaway” premiered in late December of 2013. Written for the Pop audience, Runaway has been re-recorded 79 times as part of Project Runaway.

Drew’s growth as a writer and producer are evident in his expanding portfolio.  His original compositions run the gamut of pop, with an alternative rock twist, and a taste of folk in the vocals and acoustic/piano layering. Whether producing, writing , or performing,  Drew works from the heart.  His musical journey started a while ago, but there are many more miles to travel as his story finds its way and he continues to grow as a performer, songwriter, and human being.
