"Lucky 13 with Drew Schueler"

After much success with his debut EP New Perspective, Drew Schueler is back with a beautiful, authentic single. His new song “I Do” was written as a surprise for his wife Chloe as their first dance at their wedding in September. “Chloe was expecting to have our first dance to our favorite Ed Sheeran song, ‘Tenerife Sea’ but was completely caught off guard,” Drew said. “I’ve written many love songs for her before, but I wanted to write her a timeless wedding ballad.” “I Do” will be available everywhere January 18th.
Nashville Music Guide’s Lucky 13 with Drew:
1. What was the first song you ever performed? The first song I ever performed was actually “Come Sail Away” by Styx. My father plays in an 80s cover band in Cincinnati and when I was about 4 years old, I went on stage and performed with their band.
2. Did you come from a musical background? My father plays in an 80s cover band and my mother worked in radio in Cincinnati so I grew up surrounded by music
3. What are your musical influences? Recently, I’ve been influenced by artists like Lauv, Jon Bellion, LANY, and Justin Bieber.
4. What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career? I would advise them to passionately chase their purpose and persevere through adversities.
5. If you had to do it all over again, would you still choose this career? Would you do anything differently? I would absolutely do it over again! Every song, empty gig, and mistake has built me to be the person I am now. Every let down was building my character and I wouldn’t change a thing for that.
6. How would you describe your music to someone that has never heard you before? My music is full of catchy melodies and interesting production sounds. I hope my songs sound familiar but also very unique.
7. As a child growing up, music surrounds us; What type of music did you hear the most back then? How does it differ from what you listen to now? When I was really young, I listened to 70s and 80s music. Around high school I got into punk music. Then I actually listened intently to OneRepublic and Ed Sheeran and I was instantly obsessed with pop music and writing.
8. What do you feel distinguishes “an artist” from just a musician? An artist is someone who has a grand vision and something they want, or have to say. An artist can be very successful even if he or she isn’t a great musician. People will be drawn to their story. And an amazing musician may not be a great artist.
9. How do you like to enjoy your relaxation time away from the music? I love spending time with my wife, family, and friends. I’m a pretty social person so I enjoy surrounding myself with others.
10. What are your up-to-date performance plans? New Releases? Tours ? News? I’ve got a show at The High Watt on February 20th, which I am so stoked for. I also have a bunch of new songs which I can’t wait to play live.
11. When things seem to go negatively at times, how do you turn things into something positive? In this industry, more than most, it’s so easy to focus on negatives. I find myself dwelling on them constantly. It’s a daily battle to change my perspective and realize that I am supposed to do music for a reason. Comparing myself to other artists is pointless. 12. As an artists, how would you define SUCCESS? I would define success as being proud of the art I create. If I love the music I make, then I consider myself successful.
13. Do you currently have an agent, endorsement, record label, sponsor, etc? I don’t currently have any of these, but I would love to find people who believe in my vision and music. - Nashville Music Guide

"New pop artist, Drew Schueler is a master at creating unique yeast familiar songs."

New pop artist, Drew Schueler is a master at creating unique yet familiar songs full of vibrant vocals and melodies, electro-pop synth textures, electric guitar and programmed beats, similar to Lauv, Justin Bieber, and LANY. Along with his growing artist career, Schueler is a thriving songwriter, instrumentalist and producer, working out of his studio in Nashville. He says of his new single “Paradise”: “I wanted to write an upbeat love song inspired by my wife, but in a extremely catchy way that would be universal. I wanted to give the song a modern, cool feel with a dramatic change in the chorus to a fun, danceable, driving hook. The goal was to make the song unique but familiar, and a perfect fit for mainstream, Top 40 type pop”. Drew cut his teeth in Cincinnati and Nashville fronting and producing alternative pop bands but is now breaking into the pop mold. He not only wrote his entire debut EP (New Perspective), but also played all the instruments, produced and mixed the entire project himself. “I have always been fascinated by all aspects of creating music,” Drew said. “As with any kind of art, every tiny detail matters and I love knowing everything that goes into my music”. - Talk About Pop Music

Bio

Nashville based pop artist, Drew Schueler is continuing to define his blossoming artistry with his vibrant, memorable new single, “Paradise”. Unique and on the leading edge of mainstream pop, Schueler masterfully weaves catchy melodies with his pure vocal delivery in a similar fashion of Lauv, LANY, and Justin Bieber.

Following the format of his previous releases, Schueler produced and mixed the entire song himself, allowing him the ability to maintain a consistent vision start to end. The chill, vibey verses are starkly contrasted with a driving, infectious chorus and keeps the momentum for the whole song.

In Schueler’s words, “creating ‘Paradise’ was a constant learning process for me. I knew what I wanted it to sound like in my head and I had to figure out exactly what I needed to do to get that out for others to hear, and honestly I’m so proud of where it is now. I can honestly say I’ve never worked harder on a song in my life so far.”

Along with his growing artist career, Schueler is a thriving songwriter, instrumentalist and producer, working out of his studio in Nashville.
