Bio

Drew Davidsen - Rhythm / Lead Guitar- Drew has been studying music for 30 years since the early age of five. In the beginning, Drew and his Father, John Hopkins Astrophysicist Arthur F. Davidsen would have many late night bongo sessions on the Davidsen family couch. Together they would spin records by CCR, Ray Charles, and Karol King just to mention a few. Drew started privet music lessons at the Pea Body Conservatory when he was six years old. This is also where Drew received classical training on the cello, an instrument he began to play in the third grade. Drew spent many summers at different music camps playing in orchestras. By Seventh grade the cello was replaced with some electric instruments. The first was a base guitar. With this, J. S. Bach went out the window and in came The Who. Drew's first band The Aces was now starting to write originals. Band mates, Matt Lane, Keyboards and John Lane, drums were encouraging Drew to tap into his own writing. The aces were a pop trio that formed in 1983 and continued through 1989.

After High School Drew joined the U. S. Navy. This is where Drew found a new love fore music and a new reason to live. Drew was soon baptized in the sacred Jordan River. Music was becoming the mission for Drew's life. Also in the Navy Drew fell in love with the guitar, listening to artists like, John Lee Hooker, Goerge Benson, Elvis Costello, and Tom Petty to name a few. Dew would even play on the fantail on the boat fore the night watch. After the Navy Drew floated around playing in any group he could. Some of these groups include Ska Band Regatta 69 and R&B group Touch. In 1995 Drew Joined the Notlaw Record label as the the lead guitar player for the Richard Walton Group, a Smooth Jazz combo out of Baltimore and beyond. This band gave Drew a lot of freedom to write and experiment with new tones on the electric guitar. Drew is still the the lead guitar player of the band and is looking forward to the release of their new record "Junction" Among Drew's' fondest memories with the band includes the recording of their Live at Blues Alley cd. This live cd rocks! Visit www.notlaw.com

What's up now? Drew is playing lead guitar for Judah first, www.judaj-1st.com. Drew also has a solo smooth jazz cd "Break-Out" This cd contains 13 grooving guitar tracks. Sax man Dave Krug came in the studio to help blow on a few tracks. Drew is also playing Acoustic guitar in the group Straight on Red, a Christian trio that includes Singer Song writer Richard Walton, and Violinist Tecla Heuring. This is turning out to be a great avenue for Drew to to share his Pop side. A new new Pop solo disc is set to come out soon.
