Bio

Described by one industry insider as "Don Henley for the youth of today with an arena pop sound", Drew is quickly making a name for himself. Discovered on Myspace while working at Dairy Queen in the spring of 2006, the 18 year old from Scottsdale, AZ hit the ground running, recording his first demo in Los Angeles in the summer of 2006 and signing with Ron Fair and Geffen Records just mere weeks after completing that demo.

As the direct effect of his Myspace fan base (with over 14,000 friends and 1.5 million plays), headlining numerous local /regional shows and supporting dates with Columbia Recording Artist, Teddy Geiger, Drew's fan base continues to grow exponentially. His catchy piano style combined with piercing lyrics and technical drum lines are so infectious you can't help but to sing along. A slew of influences such as Muse, The Beatles, James Taylor, Maria Taylor, Radiohead, Fall Out Boy, Kanye West, Chicago, Elton John, Billy Joel, Jimmy Eat World, Magnet and Coldplay help round out the Drew's overall sound.

Drew, began his music career when he was in grade school and living in Dallas, TX. After taking a couple of years of piano lessons and participating in a soprano boys-choir, he continued to play piano. After he and his family moved to Arizona, he wrote his first song when he was 14. "I just started playing this riff on the piano and somehow sang with it and wrote this entire song within a couple hours while my buddies were trying to sleep," says Alexander. When I was done, I was like, 'This is actually not a bad song.' Drew went on to form a screamo rock band at his high school in Arizona called A Red Light Tragedy. After the band broke up, he wrote his own pop songs, which he posted on MySpace and caught the attention of his manager, who encouraged him to carve out a solo career.

Since being signed, Drew has been busy writing more songs and recorded an album's worth of music, with producer Tommy Henriksen (The Audio Club, Revis, Clear Static, Brooks Buford). The completed cd including drums recorded by world renowned drummer, Abe Laboriel Jr. (Paul McCartney, Sting, Ashlee Simpson, LeAnn Rimes, Shakira) is currently being mixed by Jack Joseph Puig (John Mayer, No Doubt, Green Day, Black Eyed Peas, The Pussycat Dolls) with a scheduled release of April 2008. Drew Alexander can be seen currently playing shows all over the southwest with a national tour coming the summer of 2008.
