"El Paso Skyline is Probably The Best Song Ever Written About El Paso"

Move over Marty Robbins, El Paso has a new song.. and it is probably better than any other song about our city that you’ve ever heard.

It’s called El Paso Skyline by Drew Hale, a 33-year-old modern Country and Folk Rock singer/songwriter. Hale is a former El Pasoan and Eastwood class of 2000 graduate. The song is about his life journey; from growing up in the borderland to eventually leaving the city for a job in Traverse City, MI. He’s now a full time independant musician based out of Michigan.

“El Paso Skyline is really about my journey between leaving a life I loved with the people and places that made me who I am, and finding a new life in a new place with new people,” said Hale. “It’s a song about learning that sometimes ‘home’ and ‘hometown’ don’t always mean the same thing.. and that, as my brilliant wife once told me, it’s ok to have both roots, and wings.”

Hale performs El Paso Skyline at his shows around the country with his band members Justin Van Rheenen (Drums) and Rick Kiehle (Bass). Their YouTube video for the song was released in October and already has thousands of hits. He recently won the National Finals of 34th Country Showdown, the largest Country Music Talent Search in America with a grand prize of $100,000 and title of Best New Act in Country Music.

El Paso Skyline was one of the winning performances.

“This song has been well received by people from all over the country, including Nashville Tennessee when I played it onstage at the Ryman auditorium for the national finals of the Country Showdown,” he said.

Hale recently released an EP titled El Paso Skyline, which includes three other songs; Shot of Whiskey, You’re My Melody and Pictures. It is available for sale on iTunes and Amazon. For more information about Drew Hale, visit his website at www.drewhalemusic.com - El Paso 411
