"Drew Haley: Stunning on 'Wildflower' Single and Music Video"

Haley allows her crisp and crystalline vocals to shine on the polished ballad "Wildflower." The listener can recall Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town meets Sheryl Crow, and that ought to be taken as a compliment. The lyrics are warm and liberating at the same time, and it will certainly resonate well with her fans and listeners. Her voice is pure as the driven snow and her storytelling is authentic.
Particularly impressive about this song is that it deals with a woman's journey that rises above the challenges that we faced in our life.

In her music career, Haley has landed cuts on five independent artist's albums in the last three years and she was nominated for the Hollywood Music and Media awards in 2014 for "It's Gonna be a Good Day." She also appeared in several episodes of the hit television show, Nashville. Aside from being a solo artist, Haley is a member of the all-female country band The Highway Women.

"Wildflower" is available on Apple Music, Amazon Music and on Spotify.

BIO – DREW HALEY:
Singer/Songwriter Drew Haley has landed cuts on five Independent Artist’s albums in the last three years and was nominated for the Hollywood Music and Media awards in 2014 for “It’s Gonna be a Good Day”. In addition, Drew has appeared in several episodes of the hit T.V. show, “Nashville”. She also co-founded Get It Girl Nashville, an organization that offers business and creative support for female singer/songwriters in a male dominated industry, and also raises money for charitable groups such as Women’s Shelters and Breast Cancer Awareness.
Fearlessly forging her way down Music Row to the beat of her own drum, Drew has now chosen the very best of over 300 songs in her catalog for her upcoming release. “This EP is 100% honest, raw and created based on some of my personal experiences of being a mom, a wife and the highs and lows that go along with this crazy, messy, beautiful, ever changing thing we call life.” says Drew. “Songwriting has and always will be my therapy, my safe haven where I can really tap into what I’m truly feeling within and express it. I wanted to be very intentional about what songs I chose to put on this EP because I think of my songs as arrows and I want them to bring light, hope, love, peace and healing to people. Music has been extremely healing for me during my hardest times and I want to spread that to others through my songs, ultimately. That’s my “why”.” Drew’s laid back acoustic driven show connects with her audience as her East Texas country roots flow through her voice with an element of soulful sincerity. Her heartfelt melodies, mixed with honest storytelling, connect with her fans leaving them with a sense of personally knowing her. - Teen Music Insider: Ainsley Hutto

In the history of the music industry, there has been a number of 'specialty genres' that have come and gone like the many fads and trends of their day.

Since the very birth of the genre of Southern rock, it was apparent to most of us that the genre of great Southern rock & roll was here to stay. It was also apparent that Southern rock was not only a very likable, viable and highly marketable genre, it was in fact, a movement in and of itself.

And no wonder! With such phenomenal acts as The Allman Brothers, The Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Outlaws, and others defining and pioneering the genre, creating and performing incredible musical feats such as "Jessica", "Southbound", "Long Hard Ride", "Freebird", "Green Grass and High Tides", with a 'down home sound' that captured the essence of what it is like to be...well, Southern. It didn't take long for the phenomenon of Southern rock to spread like kudzu throughout not only the Southern United States, but beyond all boundaries of the Mason-Dixon, and in fact, worldwide. For many, it was the coolest thing since fried chicken and 'nanner puddin'. (That's 'Southern' for banana pudding, for those that need a translator.)

Well into the second generation of Southern rock's history and heritage, it has been thus far, a genre that has been predominantly at the helm of male performers fronting most bands of the genre, with the exception of course, of the First Lady of Southern rock, Dale Krantz (Rossington), the lead vocalist and fronting force for The Rossington-Collins Band. (Not that I am complaining one bit, I've been thoroughly well rocked by their 'predomination', willingly, every chance I get, for decades now; and every one of these great artists have my total respect for it; and I'll be glad to admit, this Southern lady has loved every minute of it.)

Recently, I had the pleasure of discovering the immense songwriting, guitar and vocal talents of a very impressive new performer gaining recognition and rising quickly to success in the music industry, in genre of Southern rock. This performer is none other than Austin Texas' own, Drew Tichnell.

Every track on Drew's brand new independently produced CD, "Within My Soul" is very well written original material, with well executed musicianship, and is in fact, radio quality, solid Southern rock material, with not even one track 'slacking'. (In short, the whole CD is good stuff, with definite, strong marketability.)

I also thought it was quite cool to see that this brand new fronting face arising in the new generation of Southern rockers was not the face of another "wild eyed Southern boy". ...(Congratulations ya'll...it's a girl!)

And her arrival has been long over-due, and am personally glad to see a fellow member of the female persuasion stepping up to the plate to play ball with the boys in the genre of Southern rock. This of course, makes Drew Tichnell one of the exceptional, pioneering few that have done so thus far. (And hopefully more will follow.)

To describe Drew's sound: Her strong songwriting style and capabilities are reminiscent of a cross between The Black Crowes, Bonnie Raitt and Sheryl Crow, with a very nice soulful and bluesy edge, composed as though she is 21 years old, with 25 years of songwriting experience in the music industry.

And though she may be no Dickey Betts or Warren Haynes on guitar, (as face it, there is not but one Dickey or Warren anyway), this Stratocaster wielding sister of Southern rock knows how to utilize quite adequately her skill on electric guitar, with a blend of buttery smooth maneuvers between that gritty, classic Southern rock sound, to the very clean melodic; delivering up a tasty musical treat like a smooth hot bowl of grits, with plenty of sweet cream butter and Tobasco sauce. (Just the way I like it.)

On Drew's vocal performances, simply put, the girl can wail! Drew has a very impressive range of vocal capabilities, with just the right combination of 'lady and rebel' to give Drew a very distinct, signature sound and style that is unforgettably all her own.

Backing Drew up on her independently produced and soon to be released CD, "Within My Soul", are some very notable performances by some well respected veteran players, such as renowned Austin guitarist/vocalist Van Wilks, (who has toured nationally with such greats as Heart and ZZ Top), and the well renowned and respected Jamie Oldaker on drums, who has toured and/or recorded with such music industry elite as Eric Clapton, Bob Seger, Stephen Stills and Peter Frampton, amongst many others.

Also worth mentioning are some very smooth performances by Jim Brown ..boards, Craft Rogers on bass, and Gregg White and Tommy Spurlock on guitars. Tommy Spurlock is also credited with producing this CD.

Elements of a number of Drew's musical influences can clearly be heard on her CD "Within My Soul". Drew's musical influences include: Tracy Chapman, Susan Tedeschi, Otis Redding, Red Hot Chili Peppers, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Hank Williams Sr., Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Johnny Lang, Gavin Degraw, Incubus, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Etta James, Janis Joplin, Meredith Brooks, Rolling Stones, and more.

Drew Tichnell's brand new CD "Within My Soul" will be available (after pressing) at: iTunes, Digstation, CD Baby, Amazon.com and other online music outlets as they come aboard, and other locations.

One can also listen to samples from Drew's excellent soon to be released CD, and purchase downloaded singles of her music via her My Space site at: http://www.myspace.com/drewtichnell. For more information on Drew Tichnell and band, be sure to visit her official website at: www.drewtichnell.com.

There are several well known record labels that are interested in signing Drew and band to their esteemed labels at the present, and I'm sure that with the high quality of songwriting, musicianship, and marketability of Drew Tichnell's new CD, "Within My Soul" many more offers will soon be forthcoming. However, Drew and her management team with Manager Jack Lerond at the helm, are not settling for anything less than the best offer, and must have very strong distribution capabilities, as they are quite aware of Drew's capabilities as an artist and the vast marketing appeal that her musical product presents, as Drew has done quite well for herself independently thus far.

We at Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions will also be turning Drew Tichnell's music, (and this article and publishing results), on to many of their most trusted record label exec friends and associates as well, and will personally be turning on CEO Tony Saldano of the very esteemed T&T Management and Booking Agency to Drew's music within the immediate future with a recommendation for signing, (as I am also a Senior Agent and manage T&T Management Booking Agency's Florida office.) Knowing CEO Tony Saldano very well, his musical tastes, and his very brilliant business mind, I am quite sure he will really like Drew's music as much as I do, and will see her marketing potential as an artist. And of course, we at Mindsweep recognize great talent when we see and hear it, and will be more than glad to write many more articles on Drew, helping fans to follow her career, keeping our music industry exec friends and alliances updated on her advancements, and to help further Drew Tichnell's career as an artist, and see that she is promoted to the fullest extent.

Of course, Drew and management have plans for an upcoming tour to promote Drew's new CD, "Within My Soul", and though she is a well known performer in the Austin area, performing in many of the most esteemed venues of that area, Drew would like to embark on a full US tour, as well as perform in select venues and festivals and perform as an opening act for headlining artists internationally. She would be very interested in performing in such places as England, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, (all of Europe), Japan, Australia, and everywhere her fan's demand take her.

For booking contact: Drew's Manager, Jack Lerond at jlerond@vmware.com or at tichnell@yahoo.com for more information.

We at Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions salute Drew Tichnell as one of the pioneering leading ladies, carrying on the tradition of great Southern music, via her immense talent as a songwriter, vocalist and dynamic performer in the second generation of great Southern rock and roll. You go girl! (Love the CD, please send more.)

The End.

"Austin Daze Review"

Austin Daze Review March 2008
DREW TICHNELL – Within My Soul

At twenty-one years of age, Ms. Tichnell claims to have written over 100 songs. I am going to guess she started at about age twelve (although I'm just hypothesizing here). My Hello Kitty calculator says that averages out to roughly eleven songs a year, or approximately nine albums. Put into context, the Counting Crows have released only five studio albums in a span of fifteen years. Hello Kitty tells me that at their one album every three years clip, it would take them twenty-seven years to match what our hometown hero has written. They would have to have started before she was born!

A sincere writer, taking song ideas from her real life story, Ms. Tichnell also brings a strong sense of melody to her craft. Her vocals are as honest as the material. Being influenced by southern rock heroes, the sound is a familiar one to Texas music fans, though producer Tommy Spurlock does an excellent job of letting the artist's individuality shine through. This comes off as a fresh sounding record.

I love watching young people put their heart into what they do, and follow their dream. Within My Soul is a good starting block toward building a professional career for this performer.

"Review: Drew Tichnell album Within My Soul"

Drew Tichnell is a beautiful blonde country singer in her early twenties. While these qualities may seem like a winning formula for country music success, Nashville is littered with attractive women who've tried and failed to land a big break. However, Drew Tichnell is different. This East Texas native is one of the few up-and-coming female country vocalists that could boast a catalog of more than 100 songs before the age of 21.

Tichnell, who released the album "Within My Soul" in 2008, is a loving mother to identical twin daughters, and she's been performing in the Austin area for several years with her five-piece band. Most importantly, Drew Tichnell has a unique voice that can best be described as southern rock meets Texas country. With a surprisingly rich, country rock voice and immense songwriting talent, Drew Tichnell could be the next big thing in country music.

Tichnell is in pre-production for her new album, which will probably be released sometime in 2010. But her album "Within My Soul" deserves a second look by radio program managers and record company songwriting talent scouts. With a tighter mix and minus the vocal runs, the melodic "Long Helpless Fight" could be a mainstream country #1 hit for either Tichnell or another top female country artist. The memorable and powerful chorus penetrates the soul.

"Goin' Out Tonight" also has radio chart potential, and it's a song that should be on country radio playlists every Friday and Saturday night. "Let It Go" is another fine display of Drew Tichnell's songwriting talent. The lyrics are amazingly mature for someone so young, and the sound of "Let It Go" can be best described as Colbie Callait meets Carrie Underwood. With the nation's tough economic times and rampant job layoffs, "Let It Go" offers a poignant message that is relevant in today's social climate.
Motherhood came for Drew Tichnell after the release of "Within My Soul," and this new life experience should provide wonderful songwriting material. However, "Within My Soul" is a success, because it proves that Drew Tichnell has heart and God-given raw talent. This is the stuff stars are made of. So remember the name Drew Tichnell. You'll be hearing it again soon. CountryChart.com - Country Chart Magazine
