Formed in the summer of 2003 in Westchester NY, Dr. Hourai encapsulates the ferocious velocity of Bad Brains, the melodic harmonies of Iron Maiden and the conceptual pomp of Rush.
Shortly after forming, Dr. Hourai was signed to Angry Penguin Records. Dr. Hourai released their debut E.P "Vibrations in Hyperspace" on July 7, 2004. The CD has been primarily distributed by www.smartpunk.com. The CD has gained online success by being the featured on the popular website www.myspace.com twice in October as well as the distribution of 2500 samplers on www.smartpunk.com. With promotion by Angry Penguin Records and extensive touring "Vibrations in Hyperspace" has been in the top 200 selling CD's on www.smartpunk.com and has reached as high as forty-two.
