BandRockFolk

Drifter have a connection in their writing and performing that is organic and alive. Their music is made purely of passion and devotion to life, love and rock and roll.

Biography

Drifter is the creation of childhood mates Andrew McLean and Marc-A. Pichette. After taking a backseat to other projects, the boys were finally ready to create the music that had been in the making since they were young lads, growing up in Hamilton, Ontario. The two had a brief stint as an acoustic duo, but then called upon friends and fellow musicians to help bring the music to a new level. On drum duty is Ryan Delaplante, on bass, Richard Marcotte and on keys, Stephen Daley. Individually and collectively, Drifter have over the last decade, established their selves as talented songwriters and solid musicians by being part of hundreds of shows and recording sessions. With this new project the boys have taken on a more folk rock style of music.

Andrew and Marc have a connection in their writing that is organic and alive. Drifter’s passion for music can be felt seconds into their live performances. Their music is inspired by drive and devotion to life, love and rock and roll. The band is an open-minded project that plans to always include a variety of instruments and musicians to compliment their sound.

Throughout their careers as musicians, the boys have traveled across Canada and through parts of the U.S. They have worked with producers Ian Blurton, Glen Marshall and Dan Achen, to name a few. They have finished work on their debut full length record, titled ‘Gone are the Days’ with long time inspiration, Producer Rob Lamothe. The debut album was released on Sept 9, 2006.

Had Seen

Written By: Words and Music by A. McLean. Additional music by M.A. Pichette

I seen a girl with blood on her hands and some on her face
I seen a man with his hands on his lap, he patiently waits
They say it’s quite but I hear everything going on
Even blends of passing scents still catch my nose
It’s almost like the whole world sits happily dead
Put up no fight, while the undertow drags you down
We all look helpless with our guards up, nose to the ground
We’re all stripped of original faith your beat before it’s found

It’s all making me sick, but now it’s too late
I fear for the world
It’s too corrupted with hate
I fear for the world

We’re all left for dead by restrictions from the truth
Maybe if we knew half the facts it would still be six billion heads better then one
I seen a thug with his pride tattooed boys for life
No matter how hard he wants to seem, he’s still a walking bulls eye
I seen a beautiful girl not afraid to look past her nose
I can tell she cares about other cultures, life and truth
I see strive, good will, strong heart, she qualifies
With her chin up, she’ll be complete before she dies

It’s all making me sick, but now it’s too late
I fear for the world
It’s too corrupted with hate
I fear for the world

Hiding

Written By: Words and music by M.A. Pichette. Additional music by A. McLean

Find it in you to find it in me
I’m scared of your love, cause I can’t fight it
I’ve given up my past for an unknown future
With you I’m certain, but afraid of what’s to come

I’m happy alone, but need you by my side
Been suppressed for so long, maybe that’s why it’s right
There’s so much I need to do
I can’t be hiding

Cause if we try, we will have to hide
Secrets can’t last forever
Cause if we try, we will have to hide
Secrets can’t last forever

You put a smile on my face, I feel alive
You put a thought in my head and I feel dead
I know at this time you can’t be mine
If I didn’t care, I would say it was fair

Cause if we try, we will have to hide
Secrets can’t last forever
Cause if we try, we will have to hide
Secrets can’t last forever
