"One of the best live music acts in the Midwest"

“Like something out of a movie script, these two lovely blondes have joined forces to make a modern indie-folk sound that crosses generations and tastes, building an energetic base of raving fans. Driftless Sisters represent the best qualities of what is arguably one of the best live music acts in the Midwest.” - 365ink Magazine

"The Driftless Sisters"

"Lily Sprengelmeyer (who also co-authored Kid Pickers!) and sister Kat Karberg are the indie-folk duo Driftless Sisters. Both grew up in antique stores just one block away from each other in the midwest’s “driftless” region, hence their fitting name.

In the few short months since they played their first public show, these “almost sisters” have already managed to travel to Canada, where they just wrapped up recording their debut album “Sparks from the Fire”. The two both grew up around Mike, who has been picking dusty gems from their fathers’ antique stores for the last 20 years. They’ll be performing at our Pickin’ Corner in Nashville soon – we’ll be sure to let you know when! Check out their new video from the song, “Carry The Lantern”, and download their album!" - Antique Archaeology Two Lanes Blog - Antique Archaeology

"Driftless Sisters Release Debut Album"

“The Driftless Sisters have released one hell of a debut album. There is not one song on this 9-track album that I would skip over. Go out and get it now, so we can obsess over it together.” - Scout Magazine - Scout Magazine

Driftless Sisters are an indie folk duo comprised of banjo, guitar, harmonica, and percussion rooted in the Midwest’s topographical “driftless” region.  Although not real sisters, Kat Karberg and Lily Sprengelmeyer grew up in different antique stores one block apart from each other in a quaint river town.  The two produce their own eclectic sound, ranging from slow haunting melodies to upbeat driving folk-pop similar to Shakey Graves, First Aid Kit, Sylvan Esso, and The Head and the Heart.  In July of 2015, the two recorded their first original nine-track album “Sparks from the Fire”, produced by Little Scream at Last Songbird Records in Montreal, Quebec; featuring four tracks with Richard Reed Parry of the Grammy award winning indie rock band Arcade Fire.  The two recently won a 365ink Impact Award for "performance" and were featured on an episode of the national television show “American Pickers”.  Since their first show in March of 2015, Driftless Sisters have already played with such national touring acts as: Futurebirds, Jim Adkins (of Jimmy Eat World), The Way Down Wanderers, Little Scream, Dreamers
….and are currently working their way towards a © Happy Meal sponsorship.
