The Driftrun sound is built around energy, drive and melody. The band pride themselves on a polished sound and their ability to be musical ‘all-rounders’ drawing on various musical styles to add colour to their songs and making their sound difficult to pigeon hole. Without a doubt, the Driftrun sound is distinct, commercially viable and bursting with energy. Driftrun’s sound is characterised by melodic chord progressions, tight rhythm sections and catchy vocal melodies. If you like your music with a rhythm that makes you dance combined with catchy shower-singable melodies then Driftrun are not to be missed!

Driftrun released their first professionally recorded E.P./Demo in late October 2008. This was recorded at the steelworks recording studio, Sheffield and features 6 tracks all of which show off Driftrun’s highly polished sound.

Waiting For Angelina

Written By: Driftrun

Waiting for Angelina
Verse 1
Its been 14 days now and I’m still wondering how,
how did it all end up this way

Its starting to take its toll , I’m starting to lose control
All just because I heard the words

Bridge
The words that you said,
echo in my head,
I’m finding it hard to make sense of this situation

Maybe I don’t deserve you, but tell me now what did I do
for you to leave and not return

You gotta come back to me, I need you to help me to see
You gotta justify the words

Bridge
The words that you said echo in my head,
I’m finding it hard to make sense of this situation

Chorus
Cos I’ve been looking out the window now for two long weeks,
watching televisions flickering across the street,
but still no Angelina

I’ve been waiting for the telephone to start to ring,
I’ve been waiting for a letter and the hope it’d bring,
but still no Angelina

Middle 8
There must been an explanation
But I’m finding it hard to make sense of this situation

Cos I’ve been looking out the window now for two long weeks,
watching televisions flickering across the street,
but still no Angelina

I’ve been waiting for the telephone to start to ring,
I’ve been waiting for a letter and the hope it’d bring,
but still no word from you
my Angelina

I’ve been waiting for way too long now

Mellor Road

Written By: Driftrun

Mellor Road
Verse 1
Train pulls in the station and I’m back on my vacation from a life,
a life I use to know,
now I’m going to let it go

The lights turn green for me, I’m over the road and I’m up the street to the door,
the door to my own home
where the seeds of fate were sown.

Bridge
(Going back, I’m going back, I’m going back etc.)
I’m going back to the life I once knew

Chorus
Going back to Mellor road, where the bread was made and the lights were sold
When I was just 19 years old
Sitting here just you and I
Watching the people passing by my window in my house on Mellor road

Verse 2
It won’t be long before I say goodbye to this town and this life
A life split at the seams
Split by these suburban dreams

Bridge
(Going back, I’m going back, I’m going back)
And I’m going back to the life I once knew

Chorus
Going back to Mellor road, where the bread was made and the lights were sold
When I was just 19 years old
Sitting here just you and I
Watching the people passing by my window in my house on Mellor road

Chorus
Going back to Mellor road, where the bread was made and the lights were sold
When I was just 19 years old
Sitting here just you and I
Watching the people passing by my window in my house on Mellor road

Something Missing

Written By: Driftrun

Verse 1
Don’t judge me and my life cos your not living it
I’ve got so many reasons to live this way, I got things I just can’t quit.

Stop preaching your lies and tell me how it is
Well at least I know where I wana go and what my aim is.

Bridge
If you open up your eyes, you might realise
just what it is your missing.

All the things you have and own TVR and second home
Do they numb the pain?

Chorus
When you look in to your eyes
Are you satisfied?
Are you satisfied?

When you look in to your eyes
Are you satisfied?
Are you satisfied?

Having all the money in the world won’t make you a better man,
That’s why I chose to take a chance, I had a change of plan.

All that talk of science and how your saving lives,
well until every man is equal then its all just a pack of lies.

Bridge
If you open up your eyes, you might realise
just what it is your missing.

All the things you have and own TVR and second home
Do they numb the pain? Do they numb the pain?

Chorus
When you look in to your eyes
Are you satisfied?
Are you satisfied?

When you look in to your eyes
Are you satisfied?
Are you satisfied?

Is there something missing that you cannot find
Regrets playing on your mind
Chances that you left behind.
