What’s in a name?
Formed in 2002, the Drip Melody were originally called the Thorns. The named was subsequently employed by Matthew Sweet et al, and it was decided a name change was due. After much thought it was decided, simply, that the name should describe the music. Hence, Drip Melody.
So what’s the story?
A love of music is the main thing. More importantly I think we were all dissatisfied by some of the music that we were exposed to. Most of the bands we like were either long defunct, or not very popular. Albums became a solution but, even after a while your favourite albums become old, so we decided to make the type of music we wanted to hear. That’s about it...
Who’s in the band?
Justin is the drummer. He plays with an ability that belies his age. His influences vary a ton; he sees things in his favourite drummers that he tries to emulate.
