Formed in December of 2011, Drive December was a band that set out the goal in mind of invoking a sense of nostalgia and familiarity with people while simultaneously breaking new ground in the genres of our youth that now lay dormant in the minds of the masses. We wish to bring back the feeling and the emotion associated with bands from our junior high and high school days. We pull the majority of our influence from alternative, punk, and emo bands like Further Seems Forever, Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Thrice, and The Used. These bands were at their peaks when we were coming of age and have been a
major influence on us since our music careers began. The feelings we associate with these bands and the time in our lives they represent to us are something we attempt to recreate for the next generation, carrying the torch, if you will, of the movement back toward meaningful music and away from robotic production, image obsession, and an overall feeling of stagnance and emptiness. What seperates us from other unsigned bands is our level of professionalism and commitment to bring the venue or festival as great a show as possible, with maximum attendance and maximum enjoyment for the crowd. We promote shows. It's as simple as that. And by "promote", I don't mean sending out a few facebook invites and crossing our fingers that people will show. We get in people's ears and eyes with continuous streams of content and incentive, and make it visible to everyone. We understand that it's difficult these days to get people to come to shows, so for those special ones who do come, we develop relationships with them and we make sure that every show is unique and energetic with plenty of crowd participation and a lasting impact.
