Bio
The best bio of driver would be the listless rantings of anyone who has witnessed one of their spellbinding live performances. DRIVER is, without doubt, a force of nature.
Heres what some people had to say:
.
These guys are f#@*%g amazing. Paul James (recording engineer-Crash Test Dummies/The Watchmen)
To be this young, this tight, this motivated its unreal. And dont get me started about the level of songwriting and arranging! As soon as I saw them play, I knew I had to have this band. Ralph James (The Agency Group)
When I heard their [ DRIVER ] demo, I knew there was something there. Matt Wallace (Producer- Train, Chantal Kreviazuk, Maroon 5)
I love these guys!- Lochlin Cross (Program Director CJKR FM/Power 97 Winnipeg)
Bios are dumb.- Rory Katz
DRIVERs first, self-titled recording has sold 1500+ copies off-stage alone, and the single All That You Are received steady rotation on Winnipeg rock radio, charting at #3 most requested song. DRIVER exercise their songwriting skills like a muscle, and in doing so, have learned to write songs that connect with many different people, for many different reasons. 3 DRIVER songs are featured in Power97s Class of 2003 CD (which sold out in two days).
Following the success of their self-recorded/produced basement EP, DRIVER have recently entered Private Ear and neuroBurke studios in Winnipeg to lay down a full length album. In an age where technology rules the studio, DRIVER is a band that defies convention. They are instead opting for a more organic, live-off-the-floor feel. In doing so, the band has managed to capture the intensity of their signature live shows. We basically just plugged in and let loose, yknow? says Arun. It helps that three of the four members are classically trained pianists
and all the guys play guitar, bass, drums and can sing. We write parts well together, and play well together because were aware of each instruments role in the band. commented Jason.
The DRIVER guys are no strangers to the road either. Theyve shared the stage with with Theory of a Deadman, The Headstones, High Holy Days, Thornley, Three Days Grace, Junkhouse, Forty Foot Echo, 54-40 and Default to name a few.
