Drew was born on the 11th February 1980, Montreal, Canada. Son of a twenty-two year old mother at the time of his birth. Drew spent his early childhood being shoved back and forth from Montreal and Fort Lauderdale, USA.
He settled in Montreal when he was 11. Being a rap fan for most of his life, Drew began rapping at the early age of 12. Rhyming words together and battling schoolmates in the lunchroom brought joy to what was otherwise a painful existence.
At the age of 16 he began to get very serious about his rapping, but it wasnt until he was 20 that he actually made a name for himself, becoming "D-Roo". Due to the fact that Drew grew up without a father figure in his life, he grew an anger which would turn him into an independent, strong willed and determined soul and would take his music to the top.As well as his music talents, he worked in various other aspects of the entertainment industry, including modelling and acting work around Canada. After being introduced to this world and being very successful there, this gave Drew even more determination and confidence that he was destined to take his god given talents and shine.
Drews mum is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and uprooted her life in Canada in order to come to Belfast to look after her mother who was dying of cancer. Drew left Canada in 2001 to be with his grand-mother and mum and he also felt that good musical opportunities would arise, due to the fact that having a base here would give him access to all of Europe. Since being here, he has done various modelling and advertising work and established a name for himself in Irelands entertainment circle.
At the same time, Drew was throwing himself head first into the rap game, getting a job as an MC in one of Belfasts premier clubs and from there began performing his own shows and MC battles on the local Northern Irish club scene. His demo cd is entitled "D-Roo" and has become a great success locally, as everyone who has had the chance to hear it, has respected and been very enthusiastic about his work.
Drew has built a local fan base from proving himself as a top class performer and winning various MC battles, and he is now ready to take his game to another level, which would be demonstrating to the nation that god has put him here for one reason, TO "ROCK THE WORLD"!!!
