Drowning in September

BandRockPunk

Drowning In September is a natural fusion of Emo and Indie Rock. Driven by a lust for music, their emotional and powerful lyrics coupled with hard hitting and energetic guitar work is only dwarfed by their unparalleled stage show.

Biography

In an unsuspecting small town in an even smaller garage, surrounded by memories and failures of the past, you can find more than spiders lying in wait. Among the silent telephones, tricycles, and equipment created sometime in the early years before christ, five friends were born into the music that defines each of their seperate existences. Out of the need for a release of creativity and the growing desperation of their everyday lives, Drowning in September was formed in October 2004. Since then, the band has been working vigorously and looking forward for opportunities to explode out of their small practice space onto any stage possible. Their mixture of poetic lyrics, energetic guitar work, and an unrivaled stage show, creates a powerful experience that is both agressive and refreshingly clean. A strong diversity of influences becomes apparent as you listen to the many different elements in their songs. Drowning in September has recently released their debut EP "Empty Bottles and Broken Dreams", which was recorded at Watchmen Studios with East Coast producer Doug White (Snapcase, Every Time I Die, Gym Class Heros). They are also looking forward to touring and the opportunity to spread their music to as many people as possible. The band is always striving to improve themselves with every song they write, with every goal they reach they aim to set the bar that much higher.

Lyrics

James Dean

Written By: Drowning In September

Well pick you up, we'll take you out
Another night, another town
We'll run the streets, we'll own the scene
(and we know we will not forget)
No stopping us

We're never broken down
Never seem to question why I'm still alive
It's been a long time coming
Before the night will ever end

These were the days that we know
Tomorrow feels like a ghost
And it's over
(and we know we will not forget)
We search for miles and miles
To watch the stories unfold
And it's over
(and we know we will not forget)

I've got this problem
Of living way to fast
Can't stop indulging
(and we know we will not forget)
Till the night is past

We're never broken down
Never seem to question why I'm still alive
It's been a long time coming
Before the night will ever end

These were the days that we know
Tomorrow feels like a ghost
And it's over
(and we know we will not forget)
We search for miles and miles
To watch the stories unfold
And it's over
(and we know we will not forget)

(all we are, we know)
Said slow down boy,
There's not much time left on the clock
Tick tick tick tick we got it
No one tells us when the party ends
(oh, and all we are, we know)
It's over now, times run out
Tick tick tick tick we got it
This night will never end

These are the days that we know
Tomorrow feels like a ghost
And it's over
(and we know we will not forget)
We search for miles and miles
To watch the stories unfold
And it's over
(and we know we will not forget)
These are the days when everything we love and live kept me awake
It's over
(and we know we will not forget)
Wasting all my time just to wake up in bed
And it's over
And it's over
