"Dr.Pepper Family: Taco&Red Beans"

‘Incredibly fun and upbeat fuzz pop. It is the band’s simple and direct approach to making music that makes this album such a great spin. Our favourite tracks are “Wasteland”, “Cast in need”, “Autograph”, and “These Days” (Rating: 5/5).’ - Babysue, USA

"Taco&Red Beans review"

‘This Belgium band is a pretty good find. Really nice, powerful fuzzy pop with riffs and stops of anthemic proportions. The songs maintain a consistency of elements that touch at comparison but drop you off before you get there. A really nice surprise.’ - Candy for bad children, USA

"Dr.Pepper Family: review 1st full album"

‘Everything started out from a love for primal rock (The Stooges, MC5 and The Velvet Underground) but they are more adopting the Zeitgeist then their sound. This hippy-inspired lo-fi rock from Dr.Pepper Family is as good as Evil Superstars (one of the best Belgian bands ever) as it’s a heavenly melting pot of pure rock, avant-garde in dEUS-style, mathrock and noisecore in a pure Touch And Go-style.’
- DreamsNeverEnd, USA

Bio

Dr.Pepper Family is real

The dr.pepper family was founded in 1996. Core members Sebastian(guitar) and Jochen(drums) kind of grew up together.

They were 16 years old when they recorded their first demo. Word spread quickly while about the same time Rudi(performer) and Jurgen(bass) were engaged in some speedblues project imitating all time (anti-) heroes MC5, Stooges and Velvet.

A first probe rehearsal immediately produced dynamite, followed by energetic concerts at local festivals. On one of such occasions the band got noticed by the Kinky Star Label which suggested to record a first EP : The Nuthouse Tape, which contains four songs. (actually 5, keep looking)

Rudi quit the family in 1999 at the time the dr.pepper family decided to 'go for it'. Concerts in Berlin, France and a short Swiss Tour followed. The Kinky Star Label noticed the progress that was made and gave the green light for a first full-CD.

Metal Molly-whizkid Allen Muller helped out to get the compositions and harmonies right and at the end of 2001 the dr.pepper family started definite recordings with producer 4T4. The result of it is to be found on the full-album 'Taco and Red Beans'.
