Bio

Susan “Dr. Sue” Horowitz, Ph.D./DRSUE Music is a prolific, accomplished songwriter and performer. Her song genres include adult contemporary, country, classical crossover, inspirational, blues, jazz, comedy, children’s and story songs.

Dr. Sue’s other writings include: award-winning musicals, books and poetry, screenplays, and plays.

Dr. Sue’s education and training includes programs at prestigious schools: University of Chicago, Yale, and City University of New York, where she is an adjunct professor, as well as songwriter workshops sponsored by BMI and ASCAP, Songwriters Guild of America (SGA), Songwriters Hall Of Fame (SHOF), Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), Summersongs (accredited by the Crane School of Music), and many poetry workshops. She has taken private lessons in music theory and singing and often sings on her demos.

Dr. Sue has collaborated with two Grammy/Tony award winning composers: Charlie Smalls (The Wiz) and Judd Woldin (Raisin!) who called her a “brilliant lyricist.” Other supporters include: Pat Donahue, Musical Director: American Public Media: “’Dr. Sue’s song Low Standards’ is a comedy song classic”; John Redgate, Recording Artist: “Your songs are moving and inspiring.” Julie Gold, Grammy Award Winner: Song of the Year, "From a Distance," who appeared on Dr. Sue’s radio show, says: “It’s a joy to work with you!”
