"Across The Globe"

"Six string guitars, eight string mandolins, Irish whistles, modern Scottish and medievil bagpipes set the tones for Druid Root's traditional and original songs with drum-beats from across the globe." - Dale MacKenzie Gross

"Amazing! Daniel O'Ryan switches out between a dozen different instruments so fast, he's just a blur." - Mike Dunlap - founder of the New World Celts

"Hollywood Here They Come"

"This new and unusual sound is destined to be featured on the next big Hollywood movie Celtic soundtrack". - Patrick Ball

Debut album, Going Home

Druid Roots are taking the ancient sounds of the Celtic people to a very new place. Three wildly different lads have united to play an eclectic array of 18 instruments, from bagpipes to bouzouki. This is high energy, feel-good Celtic music at it's best. Yet the depth to their songwriting allows foot-stomping, river dancing numbers (like "Shee An Gannon, for example) to play comfortably right next to the most gorgeous haunting ballads (such as "Galatian Princess").
Firmly rooted in tradition, Druid Roots continues to go beyond anything that is typical to the genre. Daniel Joseph O'Ryan switches out instruments so fast he's a blur. His use of effects is never too much and always unique. And these lads really know how to write a song. It's like the Clancy Brother's meets Bono meets Leonard Cohen!
The band members of Druid Roots, James John MacPherson (from Stonehaven, Scotland), Daniel Joseph O'Ryan (Hollywood, California) and Mark Paycer (Tampa, Florida) all currently live in St Petersburg, Florida. The Tampa Bay area is already buzzing about the new sound. The sheer energy of the live shows that have the guys interacting directly with their audience, leave folks dancing and singing wherever they perform. The Druid Roots facebook page speaks for itself. The crowds can't get enough of them, whether they are playing with the great Canadian group, Searson at the Dunedin Community Center or openning for Patrick Ball at Saint Petersburg's Palladium Theater.
Interest in their debut CD,"Going Home", has been huge. Released on Saint Patrick's day, 2011, the album contains almost a full hour of original music. Ten brand new songs plus an extraordinary, haunting ballad rendition of "The Star Of The County Down".
