"A Night at Winnipeg's Notorious Zoo Cabaret"

"Dryrun" (http://myspace.com/dryrunmetal) opened up the show with what I believe is their catchiest number called "Now" - dueling Jackson flying V's, gritty lyrics and a memorable chorus started off the night on a good note for me. I was further impressed by the fact that their "live" audio takes off the mixer kicked their recordings' ass (which bodes well for them as a "live" act but perhaps not so much for the dudes who engineered their 5-song EP, Absurb Machine Studios in Winnipeg). The rest of the set was straight forward metal mayhem with a good flow and good stage presence. And it wasn't until I saw the rest of the acts on the bill that I started to think, "Why the fuck are these guys the 'opening' act?" Overall, I think these guys are off to a great start and I'm looking forward to following them as they progress. - www.theshtick.ca

"Album Review: Dryrun ~ All Fear Aside"

After over a year of recording, Winnipeg Hard Rock/Metal band Dryrun, has released their first full length album titled All Fear Aside, on May 29th.

Formed in the summer of 2007 Dryrun consists of Josh Pereira (Vocals), Cory Pereira (Guitar), Matt Bileski (Drums), Jeremy Jost (Guitar) and Calvin (Bass).

Though relatively new to the metal scene, the band has had the opportunity to play with a number of local Winnipeg acts, as well as many touring bands passing through the city.

Dryrun’s energetic stage show and dedication have set them apart from others in the genre. With a mix that sounds like the best of Bullet For My Valentine, Finger Eleven and Godsmack, this is sure to be only the beginning for the band.

Dryrun puts just as much emphasis into their marketing as they do their music and it shows with the release of All Fear Aside.

The album is very well done, with songs that are catchy but at the same time shows the bands skills and talent. Songs you don’t want to miss include “Deceit”, “Stand Tall” and my personal favourites “Run & Hide” and “Truth In Whispers”.

What can we expect from Dryrun in 2010? The band hopes it to be their busiest year so far. Along with the release of All Fear Aside, the band will be touring Eastern Canada to promote the album and concentrating on getting their name out there. - Off The Dial

With success from there five track EP entitled "Feed The Hate" including radio play in the U.S and Canada, Dryrun can't wait to see what the release of their full length will bring. The band is eagerly working on their future plans of touring and with the release of the new album only time will tell what the future holds in store for five rockers of Dryun. "Although it has only been three years, we've been through a lot, good and bad, we stay focused and try to never get bumped off stride. We are driven to achieve our goals and I think that is what will make us stand out in the end" - Jeremy Jost.
