Southern Rock band DryWillie, a match made in Heaven; the songwriting team of Ty Roberts & Bill Hines; Genres from rock to rap, blues flavored alternative, inspirational, country rock, eclectic pop: Experience and embrace 21st century music.

Biography

Ty has been a songwriter, performing musician (rock) for 24 years. He owns a recording studio, The Crystal Embryo, and does audio/video editing, and video production in Atlanta. His audio engineering experience dates back to Kansas' move to Atlanta in the '70s. All of the group, except Bill, have played together in "The Forgiven", the House band of the contemporary services at the First United Methodist Church in Tucker.
Bill (Wordmaster) is known for his mastery with words. He had selected Ty as the musician to help him stage some arrangements in an original "rock opera". When they got together, it became apparent that they were missing halves of each other, like day and night, dark and light, a team put together to understand and create modern musical masterpieces. Productivity and quality have been high, with the pipeline at full capacity.

Lyrics

Circle of Light

Written By: Bill Hines

God is Love and Life and Light,
He is found in angels’ flight,
Flying through eternal night,
Keeping stars burning bright.
Showering gifts to man’s delight,
Gives him reign, gives him sight.

God is Light and Love and Life,
Man is darkness filled with strife,
God is Love and Life and Power
His angels songs make demons cower.

Chorus:
Watch the Light by His decree,
On a path that’s meant to be,
Watch it circle endlessly,
From beginning aimed at me.

Source of Life rains down on man,
Light enlightens of God’s plan,
Tracing circles through light years
A billion times, then it appears,
Arcs through space , comes home again,
Arriving when time began.

In God’s scheme the big and small
Infinities begin to call, (that)
Eternity before nightfall
And Paradox explain it all.

Diamond Mine

Written By: Bill Hines

Chorus:
I am a diamond mine,
I spit out diamonds all the time,
But mining’s just not enough,
For these diamonds in the rough.

I wake up in the morning and I drink my tea,
Don’t care what other people think of me,
Don’t care what the other people say,
Cause I am following a dream today.

Been waitin’ a long, long time, to
Be able to follow this dream of mine,
Some want to tell me it is not real,
They don’t understand what I feel.

I been waitin’ all my life for this,
The past is something I ain’t gonna miss,
The fear is gone and I won’t stop
Until I finally reach the top.
Don’t matter what the nay-sayers say,
Life is a game that I’m gonna play.

v.2

I wake up in the morning, yes, I wake up,
And I drink my tea,
You know, I don’t care what other people think of me,
I don’t care what the other people say,
Cause I am following, Yes Lord, I‘m following, a dream today.
Yes, I ‘m chasing a dream, I am following my dream today.

I been waitin’ a long, long time,
To be able to follow this dream of mine,
Some want to tell me it is not real,
But they don’t what it is I feel.

I been waitin’ all my life for this,
And Life’s just gave me one big kiss,
All the fear is gone and I won’t stop
Won’t stop ‘til I finally reach the top.
I don’t care what the cynics say,
Life’s a game, and I’m gonna play.

Cocaine Insane

Written By: Bill Hines

In was nineteen seventy nine, I had just come in to some money, Cash in my pocket, doin’ fine, New friends swarmed to me, like bees to honey, In seventy nine, the new friends of mine Said, “Do you want to do a line”, But they had another plan Did my line, they all ran. He kept talkin’ ‘bout his boot, Spoon, water, load and shoot, Dealin', Lord, they had the stash, Good for them, I had thecash [chorus] Cocaine, cocaine, drivin’ me insane, Can't wait ‘til to get you in my vein. Cocaine, cocaine, won’t ever feel the same, As the first time I ever heard your name. Seized on me like eminent domain, They showed me how to do cocaine, Getting’ high, who could complain? Bigger blast was the name of the game. Started out like a slow freight train, Then came on like a hurricane, For you I don't have to explain, Caught me in a scheme chicane! chorus Slow dancing in the fast lane, Slow riding a runaway train, Had a heart that was feeling no pain Walkin' the Line high on cocaine. chorus

Karen's Song

Written By: Bill Hines

I can’t promise I’ll be what you want me to be. I can’t promise I’ll do what you want me to. I can’t promise because I have promised so much, And to promises made, I have never been true. I can’t promise I’ll do what you want me to. ‘Cause I never do what I say I will do To my own self I can’t even be true But I hope some day Love will shine through I can’t promise I’ll be what you want me to be. Chorus I can’t promise I’ll do what you want me to. I have used them all up, and although I want to I can’t promise I’ll do what I say I will do I can’t promise you that I’ll always be here Or even promise to always be near I’ll walk and I’ll talk and I’ll try and I’ll cry And I’ll promise you this and it will be a lie. I promise I will and then I don’t Keep a promise I made, likely I won’t You want me to say and you want me to do So I say what I say and you know what I do
I can’t promise I’ll be what you want me to be. Chorus I can’t promise I’ll do what you want me to. I have used them all up, and although I want to I can’t promise I’ll do what I say I will do I can’t promise to give you whatever you want. All my broken promises come back to haunt And every time that you want to believe The trying and crying leave you distraught. I can’t promise I’ll be what you want me to be. I can’t promise I’ll do what you want me to. I promised enough for this life and the next I promise, I say, but then I do it to you. I can’t promise I’ll be what you want me to be. Chorus I can’t promise I’ll do what you want me to. I have used them all up, and although I want to I can’t promise I’ll do what I say I will do.

Laughter Is the Language

Written By: Bill Hines

Spent my life chasing after self esteem,
A re-occurring variation of a theme,
Now I’m beginning to run out of steam,
Only have the energy to live in a dream.

You know we were an unbeatable team,
Then you came up with a half baked scheme,
And had to take it to the furthest extreme,
Always keeping me swimming upstream.

Chorus:
Laughter is the language that I live,
Friendship and freedom always forgive,
A journal is a journey in jargon stored
The painful Path to Paradise explored.

Gotta bear down and work it all out,
When the words come, I want to shout,
That this dream’s real, coming true,
Would still be a dream if not for you.

Chorus

Bridge:
Dealing with life, coping with strife,
A bullet in the gun like Barnie Fife,
It’s not the same, and life’s not to blame,
Working together is the name of the game!

Chorus

Streetcorner Blues

Written By: Ty Roberts and Bill Hines

You know, I’m walking down my Baby’s street,
I got some money that I know she would like to meet,
Gotta’ find my baby, got to pay my baby dues,
Meeting On the Street Corner Blues.

You know it’s payday, for me baby,
You know I care, Baby, know I’ll be there, for you,
But I’ m getting tired, of this fleeting affair,
Tired of this meeting, tired of paying my fare,
Tired of this “Meetin’ on the street corner Blues.”

Baby, Baby, let’s get down,
Me and my Baby, we’re gonna blow this town,
Let’s leave this corner far behind, Baby blues,
Come with me, Baby, we gonna find,
A way to lose these, meetin’ ...
... on the Street Corner Blues.

I’m coming for you,
You know I’m coming for you,
You’re on the corner, I’m gonna find you,
I know I’ll find you there,
That’s where you’ll be, Baby,
And, I’m gonna find you, on the street corner
You’ll be looking around, but you won’t see,
Cause you’re too busy running away from me.

Baby, baby, you got my Baby, Got my Baby on your end of town,
You know I’m coming, I’m comin’ for you, Coming to get you,
Cause you got my Baby, oh, the street corner,
My Baby’s coming, she is running from you.
She’s running away from you, oh yes she is,
Running to the street corner, runnin’ from the street corner blues.
